And that didn't say they had a large fan base but with Las Vegas becoming a sports town more so than ever before that stadium that the Raiders play in you put UNLV into a bigger conference and it's a destination opponent that fan bases of other teams it would become a destination event
With NIL the expanding rosters players moving around football has changed

With NIL, anyone who wants to spend the cash has access.

Arkansas hasn’t strung more than 2 good seasons in a row since joining the SEC. They are not a sleeping giant.

I heard a Beano Cook interview shortly before his death where he identified Missouri and Illinois and sleeping giants. Both have good to great places from which to recruit and plenty of available financial resourses to try to marshall.
People on this board will scoff because "Mizzou", but it's a great answer.
This article from 2002 explores the topic and has some great insight on Missouri's historic neglect of the AD despite the potential that it has. Keep in mind this was written in 2002. Mizzou has since then had six 10-win seasons, a #1 ranking in the AP poll, won 3 Cotton Bowls (1 NY6 Bowl), a Citrus Bowl, 5 Division Championships, and moved to the SEC.
And that's only in the first 21 years since this article was published (by an Oklahoma newspaper, mind you). To this day Mizzou is continuing an upward trajectory by recruiting at never before seen levels, continuing to invest significantly in facilities (the North Endzone project is revolutionary for that stadium), and generally taking athletics MUCH more seriously than they did from 1970-2000.
So yes, people will roll their eyes because of their preconceived notions of what Missouri should be as a program, but those who actually know the details and history behind it have recognized for decades that Missouri has potential to be much much more.
End of biased diatribe.

No one said they were but they are definitely underachieving.

I would not necessarily disagee.plus since joining the SEC they have fared incredibly better than TAMU.
