Post-Shaq, a LOT of people hated Kobe's playing style. Then everyone loved him once the SuperTeam Heat took over.

Once the sun sets on the Thunder's run, plenty of people will change the tune on SGA. It's like clockwork. Hell, look at Tom Brady. Most HATED the Pats yet now love Brady.

This isn't anything new.

I moved to OK right before HS. The OU/OSU basketball games (especially OSU at home) were badass. Sad what both have become.

I would say that most people would be "meh" on SGA. But we are prisoners of the moment (goes without saying), so everything TODAY is the GOAT or WOAT. Fans of good teams act obnoxious and OKC fans are no different from Heat/Warriors/Lakers/Celtics fans. But whatever, it's an activity on which I have no impact, nor does it impact my life, since I do not gamble.

Became Bulls fan from just prior to MJ and stayed all through his years even his baseball ones. Once he retired I just rooted for many teams

You are the LAST PERSON ON EARTH to be telling anyone about being a keyboard warrior. The way you slob all over a grown man’s junk like you do judge is pathetic. Come up for air sometime, Jesus.

In addition to the NBA team, the Dodgers AAA team (OKC Comets) play in a beautiful park right in the heart of downtown.

They are also getting a 10,000 seat soccer stadium to house the new team coming in 2028 owned by Russell Westbrook and Jozy Altidore, among others.

OKC is a fantastic city. There are a million things to do. It’s clean and safe. It has great food.

Didn’t have a team, then started rooting for NO after they played in OKC for a bit then switched to OKC after the purchase

We’re also getting a UFL team in 2028.

Watch out, some folks in here are angry about people supporting their local (only) professional sports franchise and being more/less invested depending on how well the team is doing. Apparently that’s a rather uncommon occurrence.

I’m an OU alum that’s an Arkansas fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan, New Orleans Saints and OKC Thunder fan. I feel like that’s extremely regional and reasonable

Because they’re minor league teams at minor league prices that shouldn’t affect the Thunder’s fanbase

UFL will likely fail because football fans in Oklahoma (other than Oklahoma State) won’t want to watch second rate football. Make all the jokes about OU you want, but Norman is a 20 minute drive from downtown OKC and it’s about as good as it gets for a football experience.

OKC has had a AAA baseball team for as long as I can remember. The current stadium may be 25 years old now, but when your population actually cares about maintaining cleanliness, it’s easy to keep things fresh.

The soccer situation will be interesting. Soccer is huge in Oklahoma and no one has been spoiled by a better soccer product. I think a nice, small stadium, in an area specifically designed for entertainment (again, something you can only develop in a city with respectable people who crave progress for their community) will be enough to keep it alive.

I’m realizing now that you may be from Chalmette, so I’ll forgive you for some of this being over your head.

Mostly Rockets. As a kid I was also a huge MJ fan.

You are one of those rigid stiffs who takes your ball home after a loss and has no idea how to root for another team when yours is done. I also root for every football team to beat texas too, I guess thats bad in your eyes.

You take this message board thing seriously. Let me guess, you rooted for Nebraska football in the ‘90’s out of Big 8 pride, but grew tired of it and really latched on to The U circa 2000? Mickey Mantle being from Oklahoma probably had you growing up a Yankees fan in the late ‘90’s as well?
