Danielle Hunter was a damn good DE, played the run very well. He was simply undercoached by Haley in a poor scheme for his talents

We all knew he was a sick athlete so because the sack numbers weren't there the misnomer is that he underperformed

Russell Shepard

Spencer Ware thus far has done better in the NFL than I thought he would.

Never saw Jake Delhomme in college but I'm sure nobody expected him to be a starting QB in the league much less lead a team to the Super Bowl.

Ryan Clark

Perry Riley

Terrell Davis. I didnt even know he went to UGA until he made it big with Broncos. 2000+ yards in a season as a professional and a very forgettable college career.

Tom Brady is the #1 answer here

To clarify I read your post but it wasn't just he was stuck behind someone. He really wasn't all that great or good for that matter.

Joel Anthony was a 5 points and 4 rebounds per a game player for UNLV as a TWENTY FOUR YEAR OLD senior and played 10 years in the NBA.

I mean, even Russell Westbrook wasn't that great in college. He barely played as a freshman and scored 12 points a game in his 2nd and final year.

Deandre Jordan was nothing special either.

For football, Robert Kelley and Thomas Rawls had pretty mediocre careers, Rawls barely saw the field before he transferred to CMU.

Trevor Siemian was splitting time his senior year at Northwestern and got a legit first string NFL QB job. Joe Flacco's college career was pretty unspectacular. His IAA stats at Delaware weren't that good even.

Robbie Gould wasn't even an above average college kicker and had one of the greatest NFL careers ever.

For Football Willie Parker is the best example. He was 3rd or 4th string on some terrible UNC teams

Matt Cassel rode the pine a lot at USC.

I think Sam Shields was a WR most the time in college, switched to CB late.

Then as most know Edelman was an option QB that converted in the league.

Otis Sistrunk is one of those rare players who never played college football. He went from high school to the marines to semi pro for 2 years. Then the Raiders. Used to list his alma mater as The university of mars after Alex Karas made that statement on a Monday night football broadcast.

I think he is a great example, he has gotten better every year and has seen his role expand. Most of those receiving yards were last year and he had a legit role on offense

Brady was all big ten honorable mention in 98 and 99. It isn't like he sucked at Michigan he was 20-5 during his time starting and was in the top 5 for a lot of Michigan passing records when he left.

Garrett Temple surprised me.

But he was good for his role in college. Was more of a defensive guy than an offensive guy.

Kyle Williams is always a surprise to me, he had a great senior season at LSU but was a late round pick. Dude has a few dominant seasons in the NFL and has been very very good for a long time. Guess out of the 2003 defense he isn't the one I would have expected to have the best NFL career.

DeAndre Jordan was weak sauce his one year at A&M. He wasn't even a starter for a good chunk of the year.
