That's a pretty good matchup. I'm actually not as upset over the bowl selections as most people are. I think they came out rather well.

I don't understand why people are so down on Oklahoma. Outside of potentially an overrated Oregon team, who else deserves it?

I agree. And, at least Oklahoma finished out relatively strong. Oregon just regressed, and it showed at the end of their schedule.

Exactly that's the thing, if you just look at the big picture yes OU should definitely should not be in the Sugar Bowl....but then if you at it closely the ONLY other option is Oregon and a case can be made against them easily.

As far as I am concerned, I am glad we were picked but we'd have had no right to bitch had we been left out of the BCS games...just like Oregon shoudln't.

Oklahoma will bring more people and they didn't lose twice down the stretch. I think that's pretty much what it came down to.

ULM staying home.

Not quite.

They beat 1 bowl team....and that was a ULL team that was taking on water at the time.

They got clubbed in their 2 games before that....lost 70-7 to Baylor...and don't tell me a road win at Wake Forest is something to be excited about.

NOBODY gets screwed in the bowl game scenarios. There are too many games as it is, so if you want in, win more games.

Georgia-Nebraska is not compelling at all since we played them last year and have heard for weeks we would play Michigan or make the CFA

No they didn't, Iowa is the Big Ten's 4th best team, 2 are in the BCS and Wisconsin the #3 is in the Cap One.

Please explain. 2-2 finish including miracle win at home vs. a 6-6 team.

I swear, next year we will STILL get "Oregon is for real this year" talk until November.

Does it really matter

Agreed. Outside of a BCS bowl (and even that's pushing it), if you aren't playing for the championship then it doesn't really matter what bowl you play in.

6-6 in the Sunbelt doesn't make a bowl.
Heck, 8-4 in the Sunbelt doesn't make a bowl. That conference has shitty tie-ins. You can't say that the Independence Bowl made a bad decision, though. They got Boston College vs Arizona instead, a matchup between two storied, name-brand programs each with premier running backs.

There's a recurring theme here:

LSU got fricked in 2012 because the Cotton wanted Johnny Football

UGA got fricked in 2013 because the Chic Fil'a wanted Johnny Football

I'll be so glad when Johnny Football is gone

Isn't OU ranked higher than Oregon in the coaches poll?
