This is ridiculous. What about NFL or MLB players make you think their "behavior" is any better?

"Behavior" was referring to players bitching and whining their way out of contracts and demanding trades to specific destinations (Anthony Davis), or making up mental health issues to avoid playing but still get paid (Ben Simmons).

Adam Silver has let players run roughshod over the league while rendering coaches and GMs virtually meaningless.

Beyond the 1980 Olympics never interested me, I dated a woman that was a huge fan, she even had Dallas Stars season tickets with some friends I went to few games, it was fun but never interested me enough to follow it regularly.

I watch the NHL the least because I have no ties to any of the teams for me to root for. We didn’t have little league hockey. My hs and college didn’t have competitive hockey teams that sent players to the pros. The minor league teams we used to have are long since disbanded. The nearest NHL team geographically is in Dallas, so I have never attended a game in person. My friends are considering picking a team to follow since we all actually enjoy the sport, but it’s hard to follow something you have no stake in (see also premier league soccer).

I don’t really think the NHL needs to change much, though.

Both the NBA and MLB need to drastically reduce the lengths and number of games in their regular seasons by 30%. I really like the changes they have made to their post seasons recently.

I'll stick with sports I enjoy.

I watch the NBA the least because the inconsistency of enforcing the rules make it very difficult to watch. IMO, this inconsistency also led to the over dramatic flopping that players believe they need to do to sell the foul. If the refs are going to let them play through tacky stuff, let all players play through it. Not just star players, or specific teams.

MLB needs to speed up the At-Bat. Batters walking off and adjusting between every pitch, pitchers walking around and adjusting between pitches, time to call pitch between pitcher/catcher. For all the talks about wanting to introduce tech into the game; how about allowing managers 3-5 seconds to call in pitches to the pitcher/catcher

NBA, my god that's so unwatchable. They are the king of woke, but let's pretend that isn't a factor.

1. Talent - You used to be able to follow stars through college, to the NBA. Now it's either 1 year NCAA rentals, kids who went to IMG Academy, or some goofy European I have no clue who it is. I get that the sure fire stars used to just go straight in (Kemp, Garnett, Kobe), but they where the rare exception, as they should be. And the Europeans where also.

2. Flow of the game - it's slllllloooooowwwww. And the 4 quarters just makes it slog. Literally, you watch a team down 30 in the first quarter...win by 15. NCAA you go down early, you have a limited amount of time to come back. It's exciting. NBA is the anti-thesis of that.

3. Playoffs-Who's bright idea was it to make this 6 months long? Then...who looked at that and said, "You know what this needs? Play-in games!!" So many teams gets in, the regular season means so little. Then you factor in that you don't care about the talent, and you hate the flow of the game...and you are happy when the equinox to equinox playoffs are finally finished, and you don't have to hear about what Lebron thinks.

4. Stars-They have none. They are so invisible behind the receding hairlined one. Does anyone care what Seth Curry is doing? Does anyone actually like James Harden as a person? If they all died in a plane crash tomorrow...what would we lose? The world was at a stand still when Magic got AIDS from having a dirty dick.

5. Collusion-seeing the "stars" hold the league hostage and load up a few teams with max level talents...sucks balls.

Someone take the NBA out back, and Ole Yeller it. It's broken, it sucks, and it shouldn't be dominating slow sports news cycles anymore. Fin.

NBA - return the Bullets name here in DC and I am back...

Bullets Fever! Happens to me every year

Bullets Fever. And this year’s the one

Bullets Fever. Got the Doctor and the Iceman

Bullets Fever. Seattle was stunned

You’ve gotta be a fan from old DC

To know what the Bullets mean to me

To see them get up and go all the way

For me Bullets Fever is here to stay

Even the players in the MLB and NBA don't really care all that much about the first few months of the season. You see that particularly in the NBA when the intensity level increases DRASTICALLLY once the playoffs start.

Easy fix. Don't let half the league in the playoffs. Make the regular season games count. All the major leagues in North America have this problem but money is more important than the competition.

NBA

Luka and the Mavs being good again at least makes me tune in during the postseason, but I haven’t watched a regular season NBA game I didn’t attend in person in probably a decade.

Primary reason is star players don’t play half the time, star players just can stop playing for a team and everyone involved doesn’t give a shite about small market teams getting fricked over non-stop in regards to their roster changes and players forcing moves.

There was a study conducted this year that found that the “star” players of the NBA did not appear in 30% of their games. The solution is simple: play 30% fewer games. Load management and injuries add up. They know they’re not going to play every game so they can be healthy for the post-season. So, they should schedule fewer games to the point that the stars can actually play in nearly all of them. Injuries do happen, but load management will be less necessary in a shorter season with more meaningful regular season games.

I agree, but if that happens the players and owners know that is lost revenue. That’s why it likely will never happen in both the NBA and baseball and why postseason expansion occurred.

After going to an NHL game for the first time a few weeks ago, I totally agree. I don't watch much hockey, but the pacing is so much better than the NBA. NBA also needs to time out players that flop for like 1-2 minutes per flop. Players like Jae Crowder would be absolutely useless, but it would stop the bs flopping.

Can't really punish them during the game, but I have a very easy solution for this too. Someone from the league office should review every game, and a $250,000 fine should be levied for any obvious flop.

Hit these guys in the wallet and they'll change.

It’s also a bad fix.
People like playoff gMes.

They don’t like game 162 when the playoffs were decided weeks ago.
