How does (or did) Texas look at A&M in terms of a rival? I know A&M is still obsessed with the Longhorns. But does Texas just look at Oklahoma as their rival?

As an Oklahoma fan, I’m deeply offended any time a Texas fan says his main rival is A&M.

Hawaii is excluded, for obvious reasons.
Back before the stupid tv contracts broke apart the FBS I had buddies on both sides of the vaunted pinecone vs pineapple battles in the WAC between LTU and UH. That was a good rivalry while it lasted. I think both were on an island literally and figuratively in that conference, and they both had some good teams in that span, it was always a very physical and lively affair.

I dont think that's the question at hand. I think its more, schools that dont have a single school that they would consider a rival. From their point of view

Think the only SEC schools that fit that bill are A&M, Arky, and LSU

If that were the case, LSU fans would overwhelmingly say Alabama is our rival. And now that Texas is coming to the SEC, Aggies would probably say Texas was their rival. But both of those only go one way since Texas fans would say Oklahoma was their main rival and Alabama fans would say Auburn was theirs

Who is Wisconsin’s main rival? Minnesota?

I would say Michigan State doesn’t have one either since UM and OSU are each others rivals.

Do you even backyard brawl bro. They despise Pitt. Not sure if they play every year though.

Prior to the last 2 years, Pitt and West Virginia didn't meet in football for 11 straight seasons.

LSU-Arkansas is not a rivalry. It’s about the fifth- or sixth-most important game of LSU’s annual series.

Tulane would be the answer decades ago but no more.
Outside of NOLA, most folks in LA could care less about Tulane.

Georgia - GT is very similar.

FSU and FU are primary miami isn't

Tennessee ? Bama's primary is AUburn.

OSU but for sooners it's the horns.

Michigan primary is buckeyes....sparty?

It was based on both teams being consistently good. And I’m sure some Ole Miss fans think of LSU as a rival. But Ole Miss has Mississippi State.

LSU just doesn’t have a mutual rival. Alabama is the biggest game and there’s a lot of hate for Alabama, Florida and Auburn among LSU fans. But LSU doesn’t have one school it that fits the rival bill from its viewpoint. And LSU is only, at best, third on the rivalry pecking order for those schools I mentioned above.

Penn St.?

The Big Ten, as everyone here knows, moves away from divisions next year. Each team had the opportunity for up to three protected rivalry games every year. Penn State said "Nah, we're good", they'll be the only team with zero protected games.
