Didn’t the Coyotes con the city into some terrible incentives and arena payments?

the Texans get probably average NFL support
What do you mean?

We have a spectrum. One end is the jags, the other is the steelers. Id say the texans fall comfortably in the middle

Texans support is pretty damn good considering all the circumstances
New franchise, mediocre on the field. In a state dominated by one of the prestige franchises in pro sports
Maybe it’s average compared to the rest of the NFL but still pretty good considering the fan base is basically limited to only the immediate Houston metro area

They get plenty of support in the city and I think the top half. They just aren’t a national team like the Steelers, packers, cowboys, and never will be with the Texans name.

It’s a shame the Oilers branding was lost. There would be a lot more support at least in the state of Texas if they had just come back as the Oilers instead of rebranding

Do the Islanders still play half their games in Brooklyn? What a mess it must be traveling back and forth from Long Island all the time.

Why couldn't Salt Lake City support a team?

The Lightning made the playoffs several times early in their existence, and won a Stanley Cup about a decade after they debuted. The Thrashers made the playoffs once, and were always one of the worst teams in the league. The Lightning have been a well run team while the Thrashers were not. Hence the fan support of both cities.

Adams is long gone, so I don't know why his daughter won't sell the Oilers name back to Houston. Did Adams put in his will that the Oilers name could never be sold back to Houston?

Dany Heatley killed Dan Snyder and the Thrashers in that Ferrari.
Killed the future in the franchise and killed the fan base. Never recovered.

Attendance like this just isn't sustainable. The NHL should be actively encouraging relocation. Do people in Miami even know what ice is....and not that kind of ICE!!

Because the Quebec Metro is roughly 800,000 people.

Yes, but next year will be all year at Nassau Colliseum
they open the new arena for the 2021 season

They should have just stayed in BK
But the arena sucked for hockey
Right above a LIRR stop and in a great location with bars, restaurants etc.
As opposed to suburbia

The Panthers don't play in Miami. They play an hour north in Sunrise.
