Gruden is a good coach. His biggest fault was that he liked to stockpile mediocre QBs and thought he could make them all look great.

yeah people forget chucky turned that raiders team around and made them into badasses

Yup. A Raiders club built so well even Bill Callahan was able to look like a good coach for a season by leading the house that Gruden built.

He was a decent coach and he has an entertaining delivery made for tv. That's why ESPN pimps him.

Now, by saying "also" I guess that means you're saying he built Tampa Bay too?

Now I'm saying he beat the team he ALSO built.

He built that bad arse Raiders team that quickly devolved after he left (they were, admittedly older).

Gruden is a pretty good coach. I'm surprised he hasn't found a gig yet, but I get the feeling he's maybe waiting for the right fit.

I liked him as a coach, but he seemed like the kind of guy that NFL players would tune out after a while. He's perfect for broadcasting but I would enjoy seeing what he could do at a big CFB gig like UCLA or some program that desperately needs some attitude.

"This is where it all started for me. We actually get back this way a lot because my mother-in-law loves to see her daughter and grandchildren," he said. "We're building a house over here."

Man,living in TN that would be sweet to see. Dooley doesn't seem to be knocking people out here.

I just think it's funny that people dismiss the super bowl as if it's some irrelevant achievement. There's really no doubt Gruden is a fantastic football coach. There may be some questions surrounding him, especially if he transitions to college, but I also think he could win big in college. More likely than not, in my opinion.

Yeah it is a longshot at this point, but the connections are there to give us a chance. Would be a huge hire for us.

Gruden is better on camera. More personality. He has x and o skills. He has a ring. And he has been a damned good qb teacher.

I think his career is similar to Payton's. If Sean is the same in front of a camera we would all jizz ourselves.

BTW can Payton get a studio job? Or since they are all under NFL umbrella he is suspended from there also?

built up a dysfunctional raider organization, won a SB with a team that consistently underachieved. He's accomplished a lot and deserves another shot. Did you have this same attitude towards Bill Belichick who sucked bad at his first job?

Look how good Tampa has been since they fired Gruden. Clearly it was all his fault.

Gruden ran the TB franchise into the ground. And for this supposed QB guru, can anyone name a Tampa QB that actually improved under Gruden?

And, make no mistake, Al Davis had control over personnel in Oakland when Gruden was there.
