LINK

he's had this injury through the entire playoffs, and aggravated it against the bulls.

In the playoffs? Wade hasn't had double digit free throws but once in the last 3 months. Months!

He made his shots so his numbers looked good but he didnt play the Wade style of going to the rim. If Wade cant get to the rim and therefore the foul line he is no longer Dwyane Wade.

They need to add pieces and will need money. He does not deserve that money.
Amnestying him only saves the team money (a shitload). They'll still be over the cap even if they amnesty him, so they'd be limited to exceptions that they can still use even if they decide to keep him. And again, he can't willingly take a paycut. They either amnesty him and he's done with the Heat, or they keep him.
he has a player option after next year, just like LBJ and bosh. the only scenarios i see are:
1. LBJ walks, he stays under his contract/tries to extend for more money (dont think for a second this is out of question. with a good/healthy season next year and LBJ seeing the writing on the wall and leaving, the heat will be desperate to keep the face and the franchise around and stay relevant. think kobe's re-up in 2010 after they won the finals, dirk in 2011 after they won, and 32 y/o paul pierce in 2010 after narrowly losing to the lake show in the finals. never underestimate the power of emotional decisions after winning/almost winning the title. the heat are certainly capable of that next year if wade is healthy [HUGE if])
2. only way LBJ stays is if wade opts out to sign a more team friendly deal. LBJ is carrying this team, he thought coming to south beach meant he didnt have to do all the heavy lifting. hes not hanging around for wade to collect a max deal and not do any heavy lifting.

so if options are: opt out and maybe LBJ stays, or play out the contract and watch lebron bolt. could you blame him?

I agree with your line of thinking.

Wade (and to a certain extent, Bosh) performance has altered the conventional thinking of what the landscape of the nba would be the next few years. Everyone assumed they'd re-up and it would be rosy (not 5, not6, not 7...), but I think Lebron sees that this isn't what he signed up for.

That back to Cleveland with Kylie talked suddenly doesn't look so crazy

They're $25m over the cap. He's not going to decline his team option because they can't even come close to freeing up space to sign key FAs without getting rid of either Wade or Bosh (or if/when Lebron opts out). Taking a team friendly option would only be a favor to the owner, not his teammates.

He also shot 56% and 52% against indy and Chicago in the regular season.

you know its a different game entirely in a 7 game series. He's banged up/just fatigued but he's also played 2 good defenses.

At one point do we just call it for what it is?
Most people did that in like november. Wade's game was always going to deteriorate a little faster than most. He's relied on being athletically superior his whole career.

I agree, but I would love to see this guy try to fight it and look like this for a few more years.

Yeah if you can't carry the team you may not be elite.

Why do people keep claiming Bosh is elite? Dude got to the first round one year and lost in five. Never did lead Toronto.
At least Pippen got to the east finals.

love seeing these heat "fans" throw Wade under the bus to save face for Lebron. Pathetic.

if/when he goes against the spurs he should have the athletic advantage again

Danny Green is just as if not more athletic than Lance

it would be a way to keep the "big 3" together. They won't be able to keep it going on the current course, something has to give. Wade opting out of $20M/yr to take less is a way to keep the core of the team and reduce the payroll.

That said, if you're d-wade, would you really leave so much money on the table at the end of you're career??!? I wouldn't and most wouldn't. I have long despised wade bc I think he's always gotten preferential treatment- hype when he wins, crickets when he loses- but taking a huge pay cut to stay on the #1 contender and rack rings would be impressive.

Lebron's apparently fed up and has taken to Craigslist.

From this morning: Second scorer wanted
