$6000. Cashout got up to $9000 and I didn’t cash out.

Just to give an example of my strategy

One app was offering a 500 dollar free bet if you placed a $1000 wager on the masters

I bet on one golfer to beat another over 18 holes, bet the other one on another app, lost about 70 dollars on this but got a free $500 bet

Placed the $500 free bet on a UFL game, hedged to guarantee $350 profit,
if the golfers tied my bets would have been voided and I wouldn’t get a free bet but fortunately that didn’t happen

$350-$70, made like a $280 profit with no risk (well I could have made a mistake on my bet or something but fortunately I’ve rarely done that)

It’s still pretty scary to place thousand dollar bets even when you’re “guaranteed” to win.

When I was in the Navy we pulled into Monaco. I waited for 3 reds in a row then put $200 on black. Red. $400 on black. Red. $800 on black. Red. A snooty French lady looked at me and said bye bye as I walked away with my tail between my legs.

Eta I just realized this is about sports betting. Oh well.

I bet $50 on LSU to win the natty in 2019 Put all my money into dogecoin when it was like $.05, cashed it out when it was at like $.38 and ended up with $17k

I was pretty damn proud of that, even though dogecoin peaked at $.70 a few weeks later when Elon Musk when on SNL so it could be been over $30k

I had a $400 bet on the table at the Silver Star in Philadelphia, MS. I was dealt an 11 vs. a dealer 5. I doubled on it and won. I had to sweat for it, though, because I got a shitty card and needed the dealer to bust, which he fortunately did.

That was a long time ago. Haven’t thought about that in a while. Won about $2,000 for the night. A lot of money for a 22-year-old college student in 2000.

When it was 1st legalized in LA and every site was giving out free bets, I put every free bet from every site on the Bengals to beat KC in the NFC championship (when they did it in 2021).

I forgot the odds but they were massive underdogs and I made like $3k without risking anything.

Most I've actually bet with my own money is $1k, but that was my biggest win.

You'd be amazed how quickly you become immune to money value in this world.

Guy I work with just placed $12,000 on LSU beating Clemson.
I feel like people are glossing over this. Unless this guy just has money to burn that’s an insane bet considering the amount and LSU’s opener record.

To answer the question, for me it’s $400 twice. I won the bet the first time I did it but lost the second time. Both bets were on Washington football, once in 2022 and once in 2023.

Patriots vs. Seahawks SB for me. I was pretty broke at the time but had saved up $1,500 total for the 3 days we were in Vegas for the "Big Game Party".

Had $500/day to gamble with and whatever was remaining in my pocket at the end of the night I would walk to the sportsbook and put it on the Pats. Ultimately, I ended up with $1,200 on the Patriots for the game and literally did not have a single dollar of cash in my pocket.

I was worried sick at my stupidity but Malcolm "By the grace of God" Butler saved me. I've never bet anywhere near that much on a game again

My largest bet is over 3k in PLO and I misplayed the hand and scared off the 2 other sets out of the hand. Should have check raised. I was new to PLO.

Expensive lesson. Lost over $10k in potential profit

Looks like their odds were nowhere near the +20k needed for your story to be true.

2021, my friend and I are on the golf course during March Madness and he causally drops that he bet $50,000 on Baylor over Wisconsin. I almost fell over. We watched the second half of that game at the bar in the clubhouse. I'm pretty sure he has put even larger bets on games since then, but I don't know the specifics.

At this point he is pretty much a professional gambler and he is the one person I know who does really well at betting on sports.

He said he bet $50. I KNOW he walked out with $10K. Watched the casino sports book count it out in front of me.

And for the record, I’ve been sober for 25 years.

I seem to recall reading that the highest wager on the Tyson/Buster fight was like 25K on Buster, so I highly doubt this bet happened

Looks like a google search said it was only $1500. Why do people lie for absolutely zero reason?

Bet 100 on Tom Hoge to win his first tournament 4 seasons in and got back 13,125 then met him at the players championship with his agent tommlehmans brother told him story and he bought me a couple of drinks while talking. So I guess I won 13,170 about. Wasn’t the largest bet but by far largest win. Largest bet was probably 500 in casino and 300 on football
