Nope............It has had maybe three important games the last 40 years... So NO.........

Every game is important, so whatever. That's why they call it a rivalry.

And USC-ND has more people interested in their intersectional matchup than anybody else.

Their pedigree combined is unmatched.

It seems like a collegial rivalry...but more people are tuning in.

Auburn has to be ranked top 5 and Alabama top 5 for people to tune in.

Nothing has to be on the line for USC-ND for a National audience.

USC-ND game with mediocre teams will still get the viewership.

Honestly, as I've gotten older, I don't think anything can touch "The Game". Now that shouldn't take anything away from the IB, but anyone saying there isn't any animosity between Michigan and Ohio State fans is fooling themselves. Alabama-Auburn fans despise each other, but most are still friends and coworkers that'll chill at a bar together. My best friend goes to Auburn right now, yet coming to my graduation Dec 16 at Alabama. Michigan-Ohio State fans don't want any part of each other. Marriage; friendship; sometimes work.

I think the IB is great though. There is a level of intensity with that game that is undefinable. However, I do believe "The Game" wins the award for bigger rivalry.

Would be better though if Michigan could win a few. Ohio State is making it look like the Alabama-Tennessee game.

It is clearly USC and Notre Dame. Just look at their combined national championships, Heisman trophy winners, top-five finishes, all- Americans, players in the NFL. More often than any other rivalry their matchup has had national championship implications. Throughout the years more people have tuned into that game then any other rivalry.

Ohio State and Michigan is second, in my opinion.

Alabama and Auburn, although a very intense rivalry, is much more regional. It is only in the mix because of the history of one team, Alabama.

Funny I don’t know anyone that cares about OSU Mich any more than any other big college football game.

It’s a blood war vs. a neighbor dispute. Pretty easy to know which runs deeper

I was not old enough for Woody and Bo but in my 35 years The Game has had very little national appeal. I respect it like any other big rivalry but as someone else said people outside the Midwest aren’t making a point to watch the game outside of the couple of years both teams were highly ranked 06 and last year I think

Blood war? More like regional big bro little bro dispute.

Who gives a shite? It's Auburn.

Is Oregon and Oregon State Civil War the biggest football rivalry in the nation?

No...

Because it's Oregon State. Only Alabama fans give a rats arse if they beat Auburn unless Bama is #1 and Auburn #2. Auburn just doesn't carry cache. Not really remotely one of the most successful programs ever. Who gives a shite outside of Alabama if Alabama beats Auburn? Where is the Auburn national following? Hell for as much as their success, even Alabama doesn't have a huge national appeal.

I don't care if Baylor hates Oklahoma and murders all their fans...doesn't make it an awesome relevant rivalry.

Then people will simply tune in because...rankings matchup.

But people watch The Game...who have no connection to Michigan or Ohio State and they watch USC-ND with no connection to either schools.

The question is "bigger college football rivalry."

What is big about an in-state regional game that nobody outside of Alabama gives a shite about if both teams are mediocre?

Iron Bowl 8-8 the last 16 years with 5 nationals titles plus an undefeated season and :13 seconds away from 6. The Game 14-2 with two titles.

Well it’s already been shown Auburn has been much more relevant both in It’s rivalry and nationally for the last 35-40 years soooo... there’s that. But hey Michigan was awesome when Teddy Roosevelt was president

If you're not 100 years old, Michigan football is about as prestigious as Colorado.

The Game is bigger, as more people are likely to actually watch the game.

But I personally believe the Iron Bowl is a better rivalry. The games are more entertaining, and I'm possibly biased because I live in the South. But everyone make it a point to tune in for the Iron Bowl. LSU fans, Uga, UF, Tenn, Miss. If their team isn't playing, best believe they tuning in. I don't know the last time I have even watched The Game

For as much national appeal that Michigan has, they are actually a mediocre program in recent times. Auburn has more championships, and recently much more wins as well.
