Barry Sanders? Longevity?
Uh, yeah. 10 straight 1000+ yard seasons. If that ain’t longevity I don’t know what is. His worst season was 1100+ yards; he only played 11 games that year.

Just keep feeding him. He can do it.
For the doubters, just check out his high school records. He broke Ken Hall’s record. That was a record I thought was honestly never to be broken.

He needs to break Emmitt's yardage record, win a SB, and have 2-3 2k yard seasons.

He is the GOAT HS RB
He had a tremendous CFB career in a crowded backfield and carried a team in a Heisman year.
And, as a Pro, he is killing it since the Titans figured out that feeding the beast is a viable path toward victory. If he can last another 6-7 years, he will own records at every level and clearly be in the GOAT discussion.
Not bad for a guy who should've been LB

quote:shite, Barry Sanders’ numbers are insane. He averaged 1,500 rushing yards per year for 10 years…and had a dogshit OL he was running behind. 5 yards per carry for his CAREER. Insane.

Didn’t Curtis Martin do that as well? Productivity may be a better descriptor of that. Longevity implies doing it or a long time. As another poster pointed out, when compared to HOF RBs, his games played is about average.

You also have to keep in mind that defenses are smaller and built more to stop the brand of offense that made it’s way from college to the NFL.
Guys like Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and even Terrell Davis played defenses that were centered around stopping power run offenses.
Derrick Henry is basically bigger than most LB in the NFL, and also bigger than a lot of speed rushers from the edge.
Run blocking is trash now and offensive schemes are no longer predicated around running the ball so that cancels it out.

Curtis Martin was basically a 21 carry 84 yard a game back for 9 seasons. He was consistent but never more than solid. He’s the reason why Frank Gore has to be in the HoF IMO.

He's slightly off pace for 2K this year. He's averaging 120 a game thus far.
Huh?

I don't understand people that put Sanders over Smith. Sanders himself will tell you that Smith had a much greater career. If you count playoff stats, Smiths numbers dwarf Sanders. You throw in 3 SBs and it's a landslide. Career wise it isn't close. I saw this as a WFT fan that hates the Cowboys and Smith..

Like rush for 195 yards with the NFL MVP on the other sideline?

Lead a team to a couple of rings. Same as any QB. Not getting top level talk till you win a few Championships..

Goat? Break all time TD record and be probably top 5 in yards, or break the yards record and be top 5 in TD's. Something like that and he'd probably be in the consideration.

Some of you have short term memories. In the 2019-20 playoffs, he had back to back games with 200+ scrimmage yards while his QB had under 100 passing yards.

Smith is probably the most overrated back in NFL history fam. He had a significantly better line and a significantly better team around him. You swap their situations and Barry has 2 probably 3 2k seasons.
