Right. I meant will Santa Clara ever get it again? I remember a lot of backlash having it there.

Yea there was a lot of backlash especially from the fans. When they come back to California I think they will stick with Sofi or the Rose Bowl.

I remember Finebaum or someone saying none of the media there even covered it.

Terrible location.

Not in SF, stuck out in the middle of some corporate business park, no one cares about CFB out there and super expensive to get to and stay.

Hard pass.

NC game has been its own thing for over 15 years now.

Yeah, but the game had rotated between the host sites of the major bowls up until Tampa in 2017.

Now it seems like almost every NFL stadium is eligible to host if they want to, which kind of sterilizes the whole event IMO. I had totally forgotten the NCG was in Indianapolis last year until this past weekend.

To be fair it’s a pretty big deal when it rains in LA

The rotation stopped after 2013/Pasadena with the end of the BCS. Arlington and Glendale bid on the NCG for 2014/15 and 2015/16 respectively.

I remember they were worried it was going to be super hot for the early part of the Super Bowl as it was going to kick off in daylight
I was at the Super Bowl and it was like 100 outside but perfectly comfy inside.

I missed it, but how did that stadium get the game? I thought the NC was for the Sugar, Fiesta, Rose, etc.

They should be ashamed of themselves for that debacle last night. There will be lawsuits coming out of all of this.

If you're gonna build an indoor stadium, go all in and enclose it completely and don't do it half-assed.

California (except the Rose Bowl) should never be in the rotation again.

I was thinking that the other day. I also wonder what the heating/cooling is like

They don't have any.

Which I can kind of understand considering that the majority of the year it's between 65-80 degrees out there.

it actually stopped in 2006 when the BCS National Championship became its own standalone game (for example, in 2007-2008, the Sugar Bowl hosted that Georgia-Hawaii game and then the next week hosted LSU vs. Ohio State for the championship)

For what? Slipping on wet turf? How would that be any different than any other outdoor stadium?

Correct, though the rotation did continue (albeit with the aforementioned game).

This is cool to watch if you have a subscription to the channel.

Random, but I just watched this and it is truly unbelievable that we can build these structures.
