What a great round Sunday. Too bad he was so far behind Rory. 3 under on 17 and 18

This is factually incorrect.

Winning a major is one of the hardest things to do, if not the hardest things to do in sports.

The amount of people you play against as well as having to average a high level of play for 4 days straight (most of the time) is quite a feat.

I think people have a hard time grasping this concept because you so often see random guys winning these things. Some people think that means winning a major is almost luck, which I agree to some extent.

Golf is all mental...I dont care what PEOPLE say...if you haven't played golf you dont know this...

Had one of my worse rounds after I found out some horrible news

tiger lost his mental edge and the other players now see him as human - lose, lose

Tiger and Jordan are apples to oranges. Jordan stiil could drive to the bucket if he had too and make free throws. Loss of shooting stroke would be closer to what Tiger is dealing with.

Tiger could ALWAYS drive poorly at times. When he did he could just pull miracle shots off to save par. And then putt his arse off.

Football is a "game of inches" golf is a game of millimeters. With driver and approach and is amplified with the putter. This is all mental. Before you KNEW he would sink putts. 2008 US Open everyone knew the tying putt was going in. Now you KNOW he is missing, and he does too.

Sad really. I will be the first to call him a dipshit for the personal shite. But I will also be the first to admit I am more apt to watch a tournament with him in it. Golf is better with him relevant and chasing Jack.

El Tigre is a victim of his own success. Golf has possibly the slimmest margins of all sports and when he came in half the field was fat.

Not any more.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with cheating.

But it was always funny to play a round in college with a guy who would claim a 6 handicap or something, who would then proceed to be infinitely worse than my friend with a 13 handicap (a real 13 handicap )

Fwiw, I rarely crack 100.

The room for error with a driver is minimal. Irons the same. But putting. If you are just a cunthair off. Leaving the face open or shut you have no chance. Putting is just a feel thing as is the full swing but to a larger extent. When it is gone, it is gone.

You can't muscle through it like Jordan could with basketball. Jordans shots didn't fall? frick it. Drive to the hole and dunk or use his basketball IQ and run decoy and distribute. None of which applies to golf.

I played tennis and golf in my youth. I gave them both up for 20 years. I returned to both and found that I could not play tennis at all but golf came right back to where I was. So muscle memory is more important in tennis.

This is the truth. I played tennis competitively in my youth and then quit for 15 years...picked up a racket...I could serve a little but I could barely return the ball.

The hardest thing to do in sports is hit a round baseball with a round bat knowing the ball can kill you if it hits you in the face. This is what Michael Jordan learned.

Golf is way harder than baseball. First of all nobody who is competent in baseball is actually scared of getting hit in the face.
And while obviously hitting a golf ball is easier than hitting a moving baseball, hitting a golf ball as is required to be an effective golfer is much harder. Jack once said that if he hit 3 shots exactly the way he wanted then he had a pretty good round

At least I could hit the ball on the serve and get them over...not saying they were great the first time out...but first time back...just hitting groundstrokes...completely whiffing...bouncing off the frame...just embarrassing.

yea my timing was so off i was getting angry and wanted to walk off the court. going from being able to play division 1 college tennis to probably getting my arse kicked by a 3.5 club player was pitiful. being really out of shape didnt help either.
