That is b/c Texas public schools are far superior to those in Louisiana.

There should be a split in LA

It should be north and south divisions since that is the real issue here

Each division should have three classes and at the end of the season the two division champs from each class plays for the state title

You people making fun of Winnfield are bigger bitches than the Winnfield principal. But hey--you need your scapegoat, and she obviously imposed this legislation against the will of the LHSAA.

I would hope that principals spoke with their coaches before they voted.

I simply asked a question. When they could not win on the field, she proposed a new set of rules to remove that competition. Well, they still can't win on the field, so naturally, I ponder the next tactical rule proposal.
This time, it will be aimed at kinder. Surely, they recruit, or somehow cheat. Winnfield only wants a fair playing field...so they can win.

The winnfield principal is not the issue. She just poorly communicated the feelings of a lot of people around the state.

The original pied piper of this was Clyde Briley at Midland complaining about reserve Christian in class b basketball.

Tommy Henry pushed this play in class BS to placate the Catholic League and Henry promised to investigate RCS to quiet Briley

The selects should have gone to a enrollment multiplier with the play in class rule. The leadership of the LHSAA was corrupt and is now stupid

So looking at that list, the public schools in Curtis old 4a district voted against the split, but all these little schools that have never even played Curtis votes for it. This system is a joke.

Because Winnfield was the only one for this and imposed its will on the rest of the LHSAA

What are you talking about, public schools were doing just fine before the split.

Actually, they never have. I was a big fan of theirs, although I do not have anyone on their team. I am a high school softball fan. I watched Winnfield lose to ECA in the State semi finals by one run. In that game, Winnfield had runners on and could not get them in. After the game, Winnfield blamed the loss on private school advantages. I just thought they were mad. THEN they propose this debacle just to avoid playing tough teams. It didn't work, but I think it was an overt attempt to be given a state title.
They need to have their nose rubbed in it a little. Hopefully, they will learn a lesson.

Yes, it gives the public schools a chance to win a title, but its not viewed as the legit title. It is almost like the historical black nationial championship teams. The media is focused on the select teams.

You could have said that before about the old classification, that 5A was the only legitimate title. Who care about 1A, amirite?

You do realize this proposal was drafted by a group of Principals and she simply presented the proposal. You also realize that a majority of the Principals voted for this proposal.

I support Winnfield football. I would say that winning 11 games this year is "winning on the field" especially in a year when you were rebuilding on offense. I had Winnfield pegged to go 7-3 in the regular season and maybe play two playoff games at the most. Great season in my mind. For me, success is not defined by winning it all. Many schools have great seasons without winning a title and then other schools define their season by winning a title. I played on a Winnfield team that went 13-1 and lost in the state finals. I refuse to believe we did not "win on the field" and that we did not have a sucessful season.
