I personally like the split...it evens the playing field and gives public's a chance at winning a state title

FIFY

Most principals would have discussed the vote with their coaches. More coaches, parents and even kids are on board with this than you think.

The split is complete BS. It comes down to a few things. One no one wants Curtis or ECA in there district. So the make them play in the lower classes and destroy those team. Also, to say they are the only ones that "recruit" is BS too. The public schools do it to ( see Brady James and West Monroe). If LHSAA would get their head out of their arse it really is an easy fix.

I think it is an easy solution but a tough fix. It's hard to regulate all the high schools in LA.
I don't think its that no one wants Curtis in their district, they just want everyone to play by the same rules. Ex. Public school can only pull from a certain zone while a private school can pull from multiple. Sorry am not meaning to start a private vs. public war.

It has been discussed ad nauseum on this board. The privates really don't have it as easy as people make it out to be.

Karr can pull from anywhere and they are not select.

Really? A huge contingent of schools/fans have been begging for it for years. It's been a major talking point during the playoffs of the 3 major sports every year.

Isn't the rule the kid has to sit out a yr if they don't live in the district for the privet school? Case in point we: I went to SFHS and our district was Neville. We had a guy transfer in but he didn't live in the Neville district so he had to sit out a yr before he could play.

To all you complaining about the split, running a Principal and school through the mud and saying that things were just fine the way they were before the split you were seriously okay with this or maybe since the school you support wasn't in Class AA this didn't affect you so you didn't care. I remember a time when we really didn't know who was going to win the state championship before the season started.

Class AA State Final Results

2005 - John Curtis 31, St. Charles 6
2006 - John Curtis 41, St. Charles 7
2007 - John Curtis 28, St. James 13
2008 - John Curtis 35, Evangel 14
2009 - Evangel 18, John Curtis 13
2010 - Evangel 28, John Curtis 14
2011 - John Curtis 33, Winnfield 3
2012 - John Curtis 35, Evangel 13

Why don't you post 5A state results?

And you also realize that it is slightly in favor of the public schools who are winning state titles in football as well?

ESA won 16 straight volleyball titles

Were you outraged then as well?

Honestly, I kind of blotted it out of my mind, but the point still remains. I don't see this guy complaining that public schools win more than the private schools in football, just that his little school can't get it done. Texas finds a way to have better public school teams than the private schools. Maybe the public school coaches who can't win should go see what they are doing over there.

I don't really care one way or another... but this debate has been raging for a long time. And the public, 5A schools that you're talking about are just as much at fault as the small public schools (re-classification).

IMO, there is so much football talent in this state that the difference is not athletes, it is coaching. Evangel is a shell of its former self and still can beat all but maybe 10-20 schools with 2A enrollment. They can routinely line up against teams with "better talent" than them and still win.

Who gives a shite, I played in the same district in high school as Curtis and we got our arse whipped in every sport. Not once did I say it was unfair. I went out and played as hard as I could . All the people who voted for this split are a joke and an embarrassment to competitive sports.
