I was about 8-9 years old playing my first junior golf tournament. Walking up to the first green, as we are all marking our balls, one of the other kids looked at me and said "You're out, go ahead.."

For some odd reason I had no clue what that had meant. So I picked up my coin and went stood by my bag as if I was "out" for that hole. The other kids looked at me funny and I felt very awkward, I hadn't heard of that rule before.

The other players dads called a rule official over and asked if any penalty was needed like it was the US Open... My dad was embarrased as well. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Still to this day the most embarrasing thing that has happened to me in sports, even at at that age. I had watched and been around golf all of my young life.. how did I not know what that meant?

One game we lost my freshman year, my dad asked me if I was tired or something.

I asked him why, and he said "because it looked like you were slacking."

Still embarrassed.

Struck out looking as the last batter in the little league championship game when I was 11. I was told to take the pitch. But it sucked.

The next year I beat the mess out of our catcher for the team at school for making fun of me for it. Lucky for me, I only got 3 days suspension. He missed picture day because of it.

Not me, but a teammate of mine in middle school basketball ripped his warm ups off right in the middle of the court and realized he didn't have his game shorts on. Or any shorts for that matter.

7th grade basketball losing 48-6 to my cousin's team who lived 2 towns over. My cousin was a giant in 7th grade and he scored 30+ while I never got off the bench.

What made it worse was the prior spring in baseball my team killed his team 42-3 in a run rule game and we run ruled them all 3 times we played.

So a lot of smack was talked over the summer. We played a lot of pick up basketball against each other and I knew I could at least drive in on him and get fouled. Coach never considered to put me in. Knowing I could have at least gotten 6 from the FT line myself and maybe fouled my cousin out was pretty embarrassing from the end of the bench.

Playing 3rd base and dropped what would have been the last out (high pop up) against the best team in the league when I was in 8th grade. Our pitcher's dad had just died a few weeks before that and this was his first game back. He pitched the game of his life and we ended up losing in extras 4-3. I literally felt sick after that game. I felt so bad.

And losing to fricking Denham Springs my senior year in HS 7-6...first time they beat us in over 20 years.

i once hit a 20+ foot long jump. a literal bob beaman moment for me. i normally get about 17.5 - 18.5. they measured it and everything and i was pumped. my coach was giving me a high 5 and we were looking to see if it was a school record.

some little Jr. High pipsqueak working the meet goes up to the judge about 45 seconds later and said i scratched, everybody was just freaking out about it and didn't hear them call it.

go on to take 4th place with an 18 foot jump.

anything involving me stepping near a baseball field for me. Running into home run wall trying to catch a fly, playing catcher scenarios like ball bouncing off plate and hitting my throat directly, me trying to throw runners out on walks, throwing it to center field on the last warmup pitch before an inning, trying to figure out that whole 3-2 or 2-3 thing the entire year, my .108 hitting % was the most proud thing i had to offer the baseball gods.

Got absolutely trucked by a jv fullback when I was in 8th grade. Still have a scar on my chin from it. It was a weird scrimmage thing and Ridgewood brought their jv, brother martin brought 8th grade, and Newman (see signature) brought 8th/9th graders as well.

Men's softball league playing CF. Ran in hard on a blooper and overran the ball. Tried to adjust by flipping my glove under it and bobbled the ball 5-6 times before finally dropping it. Only thing that kept it from a train wreck was it set-up a double play since they had runners on 1st and 2nd holding tight because they thought I was going to catch it.

2nd worse was dropping 2 straight line drives in left field and being pulled. Friends won't let me play in the outfield anymore.

Middle school basketball. After a bad trouncing I tried to hop over our bench and busted my arse. An assistant coach shouted "don't embarrass us any more than we already are!"

Similar but a little younger for me while doing Oklahomas

5th grade. I was maybe 75 pounds soaking wet going against the best RB in the entire league who was a 6th grader on my team, right at the weight limit, and was pure fury. Juked the lineman easily enough and tried to square up against the guy. He knocked me clear off my feet and well into the surrounding crowd like a ragdoll. I was out for like a month with a concussion and hyperextended knee.

He ended up being first-team All State in high school and being the centerpiece on a couple of teams that won the largest class title in my home state.

I got absolutely clocked a few other times by guys who ended up playing FBS and even pro, but nothing ever compared to that.

Jr. High Basketball I usually took the most shot on my team. During halftime of one game I heard one of the parents on my team complaining I shoot too much and her son should get more chances (her kid sucked). I think to myself I'll show her why I take so many shots. First attempt after halftime was a corner three and I airballed BADLY and hit the suspension behind the goal. I think about that all the time

Both happened my freshman year....

1) First year playing football (ever) and I won the starting QB job for my JV team. Won the first two games, but game three....OMG

We were losing 18 - 12 with 2 min left and we drove all the way down field. Had the ball first and goal at the 1. Play call came in for a handoff. I had a brain fart and pitched it instead. I can still see the gaping hole the Oline opened and our RB dropping the pitch bc he expected a hand off. D recovered the fumble and we lost. FML

2) I was asked to be a starting pitcher against the team that eventually won state that year. It was my first start (I normally closed). Did not go well at all. My defense behind me made six errors in the first 9 hitters. We lost 38-1. Coach took me out in the second inning when the score was 22-0. LOL. I gave up 12 hits, with the D making 13 errors in 2 innings.

At least I went 3-3 at the plate and scored our only run, I guess.

I ruined a very good pitcher's no-hitter with a double.

Then got picked off at second base.

Rex Burkhead trucked me en route to a 80+ yard TD my senior year in HS. Film the next week was a lot of rewinding and laughter.

Lost to our biggest rival at their gym. As I'm walking off the court, I say "frick!" I look up and all the people in the stands are staring at me and my coach is giving me a look. Apparently I yelled it and just didn't notice. He grabs me and throws me into the handshake line and he's scream-whispering "I should tear that motherfrickin jersey off your motherfrickin body you piece of shite asdfjadgbajsdbfak." He took me into the locker room and reamed me in front of the whole team and suspended me for 3 games. fricking sucked.

After the miserable bus ride home, I arrived home for another grill session from my parents. Just a bad day

We ended up getting revenge and beat their arse at the end of the season though
