Still not quite sure how he did that, either. I was so sure he lost.
I watch the close-in footage and whatever happened happened in the space of about .2 seconds and all of 6 inches. They were in two different kinds of strokes, and he just lunged forward out of his while Cavic was reaching for what should have been a natural victory. I think the Serbs protested that through formal channels but ultimately dropped it when the underwater/underbelly video just showed a miracle happening.

I was hype for that one.

1. 1996 USA Gymnastics Gold Medal - I was camping at the lake as a kid and thankfully we didn't go out on the lake that day. I stayed in the camper all afternoon watching a tiny 13in tv captivated by the whole Keri Strug, Dominique Moceaneau, Bella Keroli team.

2. Michael Johnson and his gold shoes.

3. 2008 Usian Bolt 9.69

4. 2008 Lolo Jones stumbling and finishing 4th. I can Still see her just sitting in disbelief on the track.

That was insane, and I loved Bolt in 2008 and 2012. I loved Kirsty Coventry in 2008 and Andy Murray 2012 in London. But I only ever really cheer for US athletes during the Olympics.

That and the 4X100 FR were insane finishes to win Phelps gold medals. Truly unbelievable. The slow-mo in the 100 Fly with his half stroke finish is amazing.

My first thought was Michael Johnson in the 200 but the 4X100 Free Relay I've watched multiple times and get chills every time. So that would be best that I've seen.

Mary Lou Retton

GOAT Olympics

Sentimental for me because I was a kid and watched most of it with my grandmother, who has since long passed.

Something from 96. Either Michael Johnson in the gold shoes or old man Carl Lewis winning gold.

I know who didn't watch the 100 fly in 88... watched Anthony Nesty do the same exact thing to Matt Biondi. Won his country's only gold medal ever.

keri strug... hands down.

So clutch.

Looked like the US had blown it after three straight falls with Strug injuring her ankle on the last. Then she nailed the final vault on one GD foot.

Watching the Fosberry Flop live. He was the first human to go over the high jump bar backwards. Now they all do it.
