I know this may sound crazy to some on this board, but even some of the best All Time QBs can have “off” statistical seasons during their prime.

Joe Montana in 1988
Dan Marino in 1989
Drew Brees in 2012 led the NFL with 19 INTs. He threw 22 in 2010, but someone else threw more.

He's still 35.

Yeah, that age has been pretty much a death mark for the best all time WRs and TEs, if they even make it that far playing a high level.

Moss was 35 his last season in the league.
Owens was 35 his last 1000 yard season. Was under that the next two seasons then retired.
Antonio Gates was certainly a shell of his former self at 35 and beyond. Jimmy Graham didn’t even have 200 yards at that age.

Rice and Tony Gonzales are two rarities at those positions still able to ball out at 35 and beyond.

He also had 5,000 yards and 43 tds

Mahomes currently only has 15 tds to 11 ints. If Mahomes had 3.500 yards and 30 tds right now people wouldn’t be saying anything

Of course it's also just that the team isn't as good especially at LT

Yeah, it's basically poor receiver play and poor tackle play, along with Mahomes trying to do too much and making boneheaded throws as a consequence.

Kelce in particular has fallen off a cliff this year, due to a combo of age/slowness and showing up out of shape at the start of the season. Kelce having too many irons in the fire outside of football is probably hurting a good deal there too.

Outside of last week his numbers had gotten much better since they got Hopkins.

He won a superbowl last year with late career Kelce as his best receiving option by a mile.

QBs are playing into their 40s these days. He could play for 10+ more years.

They are 9-1. He is actually proving he knows how to win with or without great stats.

He's fine, he just doesn't have the weapons they once did. Kelce is a shell of his former self. They need to rebuild the offense.

This ^^^^ certainly explains a lot of his subpar stats but he also shoulders some of the blame.

I've watched nearly all of his snaps this season and most of his interceptions are his doings. 2-3 times every game he misses a potentially big time throw. However, if the Chiefs are in the playoffs (they should be barring a historical collapse) I won't be surprised if he somehow takes his game up a couple of clicks. The Chiefs will be getting Pacheco back this week and Hollywood Brown may be ready to play in January which should help a playoff run.

Fun fact. Clyde Edwards Helaire was Mahomes pick. He was a fan of Burrow and LSU’s offense. Look it up.

I also think it’s pretty bad form to call the 32nd pick dealing with serious PTSD, a “bust”.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire being a total bust looms large.

Not really. They then got a great back (who’s been out) with a 7th rounder. That’s how it goes sometimes. Pacheco returning will help them I’m sure

The best team in AFC don’t get their asses kicked by a Russell Wilson lead team, that never scored a TD. Ravens are good, but they got some problems to clean up.

I watch every single play as a fan.

Losing your top 2 wide outs does not help.

OL pass protection has been below average to bordering on putrid at times.

I don't care what PFF pass grade rates are. They are awful at times. Trey Smith in particular. And then when your LT is hurt or awful.

Stagnation, bored contribute.

Him just being off is also part of it.

To be fair, the Steelers offense had been humming for the 3 weeks leading up to the Baltimore game since Russ had taken over.

But the Steelers D is Super Bowl caliber. The offense just has to be good.
