Idk, but my interest fell off a cliff after NIL + Transfer Portal started.

I went from diehard to casual. Don't even drive to Sonic anymore when we get ULL'd.

$5 Pizza Village coupon to offer for NIL.

Need to get that up to a $25 gift card to Deano's and they'd have something going on.

Way better than PV.

Baseball it's the coach. The only thing we can do well is bunt. I don't know if he's trying to fit a mold of what Robe did, but it's not working.

Which is frustrating because Deggs was our hitting coach in 2013 & 2014 when we were slugging the shite out of the ball. Did the dude's brain perform a major data dump from that time and forget all of it? Or has NIL type stuff eaten that much into baseball that he can't recruit those kinds of players anymore?

Though like another poster in this thread stated, even if NIL is a huge reason, it ain't like ULM's got a shite ton of cash to throw at athletes, and they just took 2 out of 3 from us in baseball, swept a Texas State team that swept us two weekends ago, and their softball team swept us last weekend.

Other than the Track & Field program, which I'm a proud alum of (subtle brag), and maybe volleyball (?), it seems the rest of Cajuns athletics is a got dang disaster these days.

A lot of it is recruiting. Our lineup lacks power. Having to manufacture runs down 6-1 is not the best situation in college baseball.

We still recruit for speed and defense while other teams are punting those to fill their lineups with .240 hitters who kill the ball

We're hitting .247 as a team.

But we're last in the Sun Belt in team batting average, slugging percentage, HRs and RBIs.

We're 2nd, just barely behind Old Miss, in fielding percentage and least amount of errors, which makes sense as our defense (and somewhat pitching) has put us in position to win almost every game, but we can't fricking hit for more than 3 runs.

When was ULL Baseball ever mega-elite? They have been to 1 CWS and only 4 Super Regionals in their history.

So basically in SB especially money just over took the tradition and infrastructure that y'all had built?

It’s also what has happened to their baseball program to a somewhat lesser degree.

Yet Deggs has a higher winning percentage than Robe and went to 3 straight regionals.

NIL and not finding guys who can hit at an elite level has made it tough. Especially since Deggs is an offensive minded coach.
