What is the consensus greatest college basketball team of all-time?

I'm sure opinions differ, but I know little about the sport and so I was wondering what some of our experts on the MSB had to say about the topic. Obviously I hear a lot about John Wooden's UCLA teams from 1966-1973, 1975-76 Indiana, 1991-92 Duke, and 1995-96 Kentucky. But what about you guys?

Jordan’s team was pretty close. Him, Worthy, and Perkins.
Tark’s team that destroyed Duke was pretty close too

Bama this year killer team would shoot down all others

I believe the freshman UCLA team beat their varsity national championship team by 40 points or some such obnoxious number in practice, so them when they got older.
I don't believe in comparing different periods because later era teams have the benefit of all the additional learning about nutrition, training, etc. in the intervening years.
meant to say their team with Alcinder

2011 Kentucky with Anthony Davis was pretty damn dominant. I don’t remember anyone really testing them

1990 UNLV was very very good.

Probably one of those UCLA teams with Kareem.
Indiana fans will tell you it's their 1976 team. They even made a banner for it.

In that era Indiana in 1976 was the most fundamentally sound team I’ve ever seen. 1984 Georgetown was the best team of the 80’s. And look at how great the ncaa was in the 80’s….

The only real black spot was their complete no show against MSU in the SEC tourney final. Besides that, they lost one regular season game early in the year against UMASS. They avenged that with a pretty dominant performance against the Minutemen in the final four.

They won 88 games in a row. Its not even a discussion.

They were amazing.
96 Kentucky was really really fricking good.
The Anthony Davis Kentucky team was focking amazing.
But it's gotta be a Lew Alcindor team, right?

1982-84 Houston “Phi Slamma Jamma” is in the conversation.

The real answer is probably one of those UCLA teams though it’s tough to compare eras.
In my lifetime though, offhand I’d say the best I’ve seen is

Probably this, but didn’t see it. Objectively, my impression is that basketball was the biggest sport back then. True? At least nationwide?
There are still lower level teams that have seating for 10 and 15000 seat arenas.

1991 UNLV is the best team I have seen. I wasn’t around during the Wooden era.

UCLA’s 88 game win streak was with Walton playing.
Kareem’s UCLA had a 47 game winning streak when they lost to Houston in the Astrodome.

Those were in my lifetime

But as good as the Kareem teams were, the Bill Walton team of 71-72 had Walton, Henry Bibby, and Jamaal Wilkes on the team and was probably the most dominant. Only two games were less than a 13-point margin, one of those in the tournament finals. The margin of victory in their 10 closest games were 5, 6, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 19, 22, and 25. They won 21 games by 25 or greater.

That UNLV 90 or 91 team was fricking unbelievable. Sure, shite was corrupt, but like Jerry Tarkanian said…
The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky
they're going to give Cleveland
State another year of probation.
It only applies to certain teams.

73 were with Walton, the first 15 were the season before he was a starter.
