Herbie did add a lot more travels to his schedule recently with the added NFL slate

Possible that he developed anxiety or something else from being on the road so much compared to just the gameday / Saturday night Primetime game he was accustomed to? Not sure

But the dog ain’t hurting anyone and if you have an allergy to dogs.
That’s a you problem. As the minority. The world doesn’t have to accommodate to your every need. And you aren’t as important as Herbie is to football broadcasts

Kirk isn’t a welder or plumber like most of the clowns on this board these days. Who cares.

They were probably concerned about Kirk not being likeable with the wierd old guy leaving. They gave Kirk a dog to make him relatable and so people would forget the millions of incorrect hot takes over the years. Also may diffuse negative fan interactions Kirk must get from drunk college kids. Having the dog look the same each year frees up Kirk to aggressively pursue getting the face lifts, botox, and every known plastic surgery to man now. Dude looks completely different every year.

I think it's cool on Gameday and all, but leave it out of the booth during the broadcast of the game.

I don't know, Goldens and Labs are chick magnets. I took my daughter's Golden walking when I went visit her and I couldn't go 100 feet without some young coed wanting to pet him and hug him. I imagine a young guy would have no trouble getting chicks using the dog as bait.

Why do you care? It’s a four hour broadcast of a lopsided game and that takes up 30 seconds. A lot of people enjoy it.

Does Kirk just have so much influence at ESPN that one day he just said "I'm going to start bringing my dog and you aren't going to say a thing, so deal with it" type situation?

pretty much

With all due respect that's not true and I'm tired of that mentality. I'll admit myself, I love dogs but I'm highly allergic to them. The wrong dog could cause my asthma to absolutely go haywire. That dog could absolutely hurt me and others who have allergies to dogs. So that is absolutely not true. How does Kirk not know his dog might not cause an allergic reaction to someone in the hallway or someone on the production crew? It's why I hate that dogs now are just everywhere, including restaurants and airplanes. Putting the dogs above other humans. I hate how people forget or just flat out ignore that a lot of us are allergic to dogs. And just from a professionalism aspect, unless it's a service dog, it has no businesses at the workplace. Again though, I'm mostly just curious. And I'm really surprised Kirk himself has never addressed it.

For you and all the other POS's on this thread, care to say that to my face? Name the time and place. Inhalers can't always save someone

Are you really that insecure that you have to bring your dog everywhere? I guess your dog has to be the real man and make up for you being the pussy.

Let me be very clear as I am done with this thread. My life, and any humans life, is more important and takes priority over the life and freedom of any pet, including a dog. My life, and any humans life, is more important than Kirk's dog. This is a fact, case closed.

We're not talking some small population. It is estimated that 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. has some sort of allergy, whether it is a seasonal allergy, pet/dander allergy or a food allergy.

And last time I checked, places like schools and airplanes have banned peanuts because of tree nut allergies. Sorry you are inconvenienced.

You all act like I'm saying euthanize all dogs. I love dogs, it kills me that I can't one myself. I don't react to all dogs, but I'm always careful around a new dog as I just don't know my reaction level. But dogs are not as important as humans.

All I'm saying is dogs, outside of service dogs, should not be in restaurants (I mean that is just disgusting and a health code violation), retail stores, event places, hotels (outside of specific pet friendly rooms) and airplanes.

Being outside, at home, in someone's car/RV, at a park, that's all fine. Is it really that much to ask that dogs not be in places they really should never have been in the first place?

And for those trashing me, look in the mirror. Bet at least 50% of you criticizing my "genetics" are on ozempic/fat medication, heart medication, cholesterol medication, diabetes medication or all of them. Maybe it's your genetics who shouldn't be passed along.

Bull shite, or dog shite. I have well trained dogs and can take them anywhere, anytime and have them shite on command. One of the easiest things you can teach a dog. Feed em in the morning, then take em out for a shite. Easy peasy.

Personal anecdote: we left for 2 weeks once and left dog with my parents. It’s my wife’s aussie shepherd and is really attached emotionally.

The healthy dog went into both kidney and liver failure. Multiple vets advised us to put him down. My wife nursed him back to health with attention and liquid charcoal. That was 5 years ago, he’s still going strong, but now on trips, one of us has to stay home or we take the dog with us.

So he says "emotional support" so that it passes any legal issues.

Emotional support animals don’t have legal protections. Just slapping a vest on them saying “service dog” doesn’t either. The animal must be trained to perform a task to qualify under ADA

He’s right though. I mean who doesn’t want to sit there and watch analysis of a 48-14 complete and total destruction of a terrible team by another average team.
