the problem people have with Baylor is simple: they aren't supposed to be good and now they are, and it pisses everyone off
The problem I have with Baylor is that it's players are sexually assaulting women.

The assault occurred in 2013 and he was kicked off the team right away. What more can Baylor actually do? If we're holding the institution responsible, you have to point out what they did wrong, not Ukwuachu. Ukwuachu is a dirtbag. But how exactly did Baylor enable his behavior if they kicked him off the team right away?

He was kicked off of Boise State after the incident there. He was not kicked off of Baylor's team.

Make no mistake.. Baylor and TCU both have had their share of thugs.
Casey Pachall was exhibit A at TCU, along with assorted incidents over the years including a roided up center (I think) that randomly beat the crap out of some student.

He wasn't kicked out of Baylor at all. They didn't even take him out of classes that he shared with the accuser and instead made her change her schedule. The only reason they ever gave for him being out last year was that he had "Some issues" to work on.
Their defensive coordinator was saying this summer that they fully expect him to be playing this fall.
Boise was so done with him they wouldn't even give him support for a waiver to play for Baylor in 2013 after they booted him of their football team. Why was he dumped? Violence against a woman.

Also, they were the only school willing to stand up to Texas when they were threatening to move to the Pac-12. Everyone else cowered and prayed, while Baylor actually acted, and forced Texas' hand. They saved the Big 12 by being unafraid of being the "bad guys."

It's just a terrible place. I went there and smashed their rugby team's face in multiple times when I was at LSU.
Baylor is like Ukraine baws: weak.

has anything that i have said been wrong?
Posted on 8/20/15 at 6:18 pm to WestCoastAg
What does being right or wrong have anything to do with anything?

probably the same as

He has never played or practiced with the team. He is not on the fall roster.
Edit: he was allowed to work out with the team until and attend classes until his court case was resolved.

Pretty sickening article on the way Baylor has handled the current rape investigation of a current member of the Football team, along with other previous issues
Are you calling for him to be kicked out of school before he is found guilty? If so, that opens up Baylor to possibility of lawsuits from him.
If a university issues a public statement, or even enforces some penalty on the student, and the accused is acquitted (athlete or not) the institution puts itself in legal jeopardy. (This has happened on various occasions around the country). Meanwhile, the federal government is requiring colleges to act as quasi-judicial bodies and take action against students accused of sexual misconduct. The colleges do not have subpoena power and, if I recall correctly, can't put people under oath either. Their standard is the "preponderance of the evidence," while criminal cases are "beyond a reasonable doubt."
I don't know what Baylor's current method for dealing with these cases is, but there are a lot of colleges scrambling to figure out how to handle it in light of new federal requirements.
While I generally agree that "open, forthcoming, and honest communication is your best bet," sometimes silence is a better strategy of multiple bad options. What happens when the accused is not guilty and the accuser simply made up the story out of whole cloth? (Rolling Stone, anyone?) It's not an easy call.
Based on what appears to be true from his time before coming to Baylor, I would have preferred that they never had allowed him to set foot on campus. I glad he didn't practice or play. At the same time, sometimes a second chance is warranted.
As for the "journalists" complaining that they weren't told anything, do your damn job.

Baylor is as shady as they come. I don't believe for a second that Sumlin runs a clean program, but he seems like a good guy. Cheating? probably, but I don't think he's in the same stratosphere as Briles when it comes to "win at all costs"
I mean Briles works for the same program that had a basketball coach attempt to cover up one of their basketball players murdering another.

I'm no fan of Baylor but that article is really bias.
Yep. Written like you would find on Gawker.
Reporter upset because Baylor didn't come tell them about the trial.
Sam is also a TPOS. If he is found guilty I hope he goes to jail for a long long time.

Yep, which happened 12 years ago and in which most of the AD at that time is not a part of the current AD.
We kicked Josh Gordon off our team for possession of marijuana. Nobody at Baylor is hiding anything. There is no conspiracy to keep Ukwuachu around. The right people were contacted and justice will come out of the situation. I'm personally glad Baylor doesn't have a Winston-style media circus on their hands. This is how it SHOULD be handled.

If they find him not guilty tonight, why shouldn't he be allowed to play? He claims he is innocent, had a friend testify in his defense, turned over his text messages to the school, and has passed an independent polygraph.
Let the jury decided his fate.
And as far as their DC goes, I don't believe you'll find many people at either LSU, A&M, or SMU that would disparage Phil Bennett's character.
