but it could be a way to force these teams to go away from all these bullpen starts or “tandem” starts where they plan on a starter only going 2-3 innings

why would baseball want to do this

What if goats were allowed to roam the field of play?

I don't mean the Tom Brady variety.

Would you be ok with a rule that allows a team to reset the lineup every inning?

As in, the #9 hitter would only bat in innings where they batted around? No... I would not

Most of the rules designed to save time end up not saving much time at all and just aggravate baseball fans. Maybe just leave the damn game alone. If a person doesn't have the attention span to watch a game, maybe they just don't like baseball

It’s not about saving time, it’s about pictures being able to pitch deep in the games. That is a skill that is slowly going away.

I’m not saying the five innings thing is actually a good idea, just spitball in ways to bring actual starting pitching back in the prominence

Teams pulling pitchers earlier isn’t a result of pitchers getting worse at going deep into games

That doesn't make any sense

Why do we need to screw around with baseball? Baseball is fine the way it is. If you don’t like it, don’t watch.

In my opinion, the time suck is on the warmup pitches they get. You want to change pitchers, cool by me, but they check in and go like EVERY other sport. Use the bullpen time to warm up.

This would make some games take a lot longer. Not something that anyone wants

You’d have starters basically forced to throw 120-130+ pitches in starts as well. I don’t think teams would be enthusiastic about putting young pitchers into that atmosphere

Who’s throwing 130 pitches in 5 innings?
