Brian Kelly is a great coach. People criticize him often but Notre Dame has been very good.

Well, he was also given plenty of time. I've seen a lot of articles over the years saying it's time for them to cut ties

I don’t disagree.

Book makes enough plays that he’d give Alabama FITS. Plus they seem physical with a great OL and that TE is a beast. On offense they seem to do everything that beats Alabama.

I was surprised by ND's tackling and physicality and despite being on the field all 2nd half, their defense.

This is 2020 and nobody is playing much D and Clemson sleepwalks to 50 points.

Holding Clemson to 33 points in regulation is a feat.

ND just needs to sustain drives and help their D; it felt like Clemson's O was on the field all 2nd half.

He has recruited reasonably well (not in the top tier elite like Alabama, OSU, UGA, etc., but well), but more importantly, we are perhaps the most physical fricking team in America and place a ton of emphasis on the play of both lines. Even if Clemson had won that game, they were physically punished and would have been hurting for a week or two.

Take a look at the Notre Dame alumni along the lines in the NFL right now. There isn't a better alumni group along the offensive line in all of football, as one example.

He's a pretty good coach?

It's as simple as this. He won national championships at Grand Valley State, won at Central Michigan, and got to BCS bowls at Cincinnati. Programs that weren't traditional winners.

I don't know if he'll ever win a national championship at ND, but given the current landscape of college football, I'm not sure anyone else would either.

He didn’t suck. All the other hires did.

Being good is the absence of suck. If you wanna be good, don’t hire a coach who sucks.

When they lose to Clemson in the ACC championship, make the playoff, and get beat by Ohio State or Bama by 21, I’ll chuckle at the remembrance of your take.

Clemson's O-line isn't up to snuff this year and ND took advantage of it.

I think it helped that ND picked up that Clemson are the sign-stealing maestros and adjusted accordingly. We ran almost nothing from HUHN tonight and sent in virtually all plays via TE and WR.

Haven’t they been absolutely THROTTLED in playoff/championship games?

They played a more physical and competitive game against 2018 Clemson than Bama did

Are yall so freaking dumb? Or did a little leprechaun bang your ol lady?

4-8 against top 10 isn’t bad at all, especially when you look at the topic of the OP

Please do Mich, tenn, texas and Nebraska’s record against the top 10 now since Kelly has been at ND
