Listen man I have always loved FSU going back to the 80’s. Bobby Bowden-the uni’s-the swag-the consistency-something about that brand I was always attracted to and what happened with 5-6 teams having a shot at the playoff and the Noles being undefeated and left out-SUCKS-but I have to give an opinion on who I think the best 4 teams are. I’m not on the committee-I don’t vote-I watch games-I analyze teams and I give my take. That’s it. And if you think I have an agenda or a motive I’m sorry you feel that way but it’s wrong. I love this sport and care about it deeply and can’t make everyone happy-I ask questions of the commissioners in the offseason to understand things clearly-Watch games and give my opinion. If it’s for your team you love me and if it’s against you hate me. I wish it were different and hopefully next year with 12 teams it will be. I am a huge fan of Coach Norvell’s and his team and wish the Noles nothing but the best.

Does anyone really think UGA isn’t better than Michigan or Texas or Washington though? That’s my hang up with the “best team” argument

The system was different in 2000, was it not. He’s comparing apples to oranges.
Just goes to show you, the crowning of a CFB NC is bogus and run by TV ( looking at you ESPN). And has always been bogus.

Yeah, that's the thing here. Different standards were applied for that fourth spot. If it's truly the four best then there's a damn good argument to be made that Bama and UGA not only belong in the playoff but that they should probably occupy the top two seeds over UM, UW, and yes, maybe even Texas.
But the committee only felt it prudent to apply the "best team" criteria in Bama's case at the exclusion of FSU. Because there's no way those lunatics believe FSU is worse than Bama but better than UGA.

It seems like a lot of espn people are surprised at the backlash they are getting.
When you openly campaign for alabama across so many platforms people begin to question your motives. I’m not sure why that’s so surprising.

it was going to be UGA, Mich, Wash and FSU until UGA lost. Once UGA lost, that put Mich and Wash in, then you had Texas getting in, and of course bama.
the 2 questions i'd like to ask the committee are:
1) why was FSU ranked in the top 4 for a couple of weeks without their starter, still win their conference, and then drop
2) if we're going with best teams, i think the team that has 1 loss over the last 2+ years is in that number, so why leave UGA out? Oh, the NEW requirement is BEST team to WIN their conference. all of this option is subjective and why the committee is getting the scrutiny it deserves.

In any sport, crowning a champion based on one game only doesn't always result in the best team winning. Playoffs are the same. At least the BCS tried to pair the 2 best teams based on an overall body of work. When a 12th seed wins a championship people will say they weren't "deserving" and demand the BCS back. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Again, if the roles were reversed and Alabama was undefeated and was down to their 3rd string freshman QB and Florida St was full strength with 1 loss, who gets in?
