Sure to a degree we are all hypocrites. But it isn’t a coincidence that the biggest supporters of athletes having a voice typically agree with athletes on most issues

Exactly why is he talking about this at a football press conference.

Exactly why do Popovich and Kerr constantly speak about Marxist agendas during their 'sports' press conferences?

Del Rio is spot-on in his contrasting of these two events.

I told my father as we watched news coverage on Jan. 6th that these politician in Washington had absolutely no issues when innocent people saw their businesses and cities destroyed by an angry mob, but the moment crowds moved on them it was a national disgrace and an urgent emergency.

You'd have to be blind not to see the difference. It's when we knew we had a ruling class here in America.

I can't imagine the level of narcissism it takes to be at your job, you're speaking as a representative of your company...then go...

"You know, let's talk politics for a minute...that George Floyd stuff..."

I'd have lost my mind.

Not necessarily true... this thread being an example.

People want athletes to have a voice, until they don't.

Wow, so Del Rio is out here minimizing violent attacks on police.

The tribalism is just flat out pathetic. You have people saying the riots were the worst thing ever but 1/6 was just proud Patriots showing they were upset with the direction of this country.

And then others that 1/6 was a disgrace but the riots were just people expressing economic anxiety and unrest because of covid lockdowns.

I don’t know how anyone can say these things with a straight face. Of course, plenty of people create online personas just to troll, but that can’t be applied to Del Rio.

People have lost the ability to criticize any bad behavior from “their side”.

They shouldn't, so get mad at Del Rio just like you get mad at Pop and Kerr.

If you don't want politics in sports, the message shouldn't matter.

You would have sucked George Floyd’s dick right after he assaulted a woman and pointed a gun at her stomach while she was pregnant, wouldn’t you?

The only problem leftists have with Floyd is he didn’t pull the trigger. They love killing babies

I would 1000% percent take a 0 politics sporting world. But given the current climate, it’s refreshing when 1 out of every 1000 sports figures say something I agree with

It's ridiculous that everyone has to take a side these days when none of that shite actually matters.

This!! I dont necessarily disagree with parts of what he said, but I dont care to hear his shitty political opinions in an interview where he is on the clock.

now his own social media, fair game...people choose to follow

I don’t think JDR gives a frick.

The league is taking aim at Snyder, so he may as well try to draw flak and then sue the league for his dismissal like Chucky did with his Raiders firing.

Snyder might defend Del Rio just out of spite.

From an economic standpoint and from a safety standpoint, these two aren’t even comparable. We were also gaslit by the mainstream media that these were “mostly peaceful protest” for years while the VPOTUS was bailing out rioters.

He's right. Anyone who says otherwise is willfully ignorant.
