Linear readers visualize actual lines, non-linear readers usually pick a spot. Tiger is a linear reader, which is why he blows and will never break Jack's record

I visualize a line. Then pick a spot on the line.

Damn you guys make this complicated. I see putt, make putt.

And if I had to guess, I am kind of a combo of the two, but more towards the linear reader.

Damn ... I need to pay more attention when I putt. I just look to see what direction I think the putt breaks and just try to hit the putt in that general direction

So, tiger actually picks a line or traces a line he thinks the ball will travel to the hole and tries to putt it on that line

No wonder it takes tour players six hours to play a round of golf

I pick a ball mark or something and use that as my starting line, but I don't look at the hole from 360 degrees and imagine a line from my ball to the hole. I don't know what you call that.

Long putts I get the general direction and knock it up there.

When I make a putt and someone asks me what I did, it is hard for me to tell them. I never think of putts in terms of one cup right or left, etc. If the putt breaks left, I try to make it in the 4:30-3:00 part of the hole. Reverse on the other side.

ETA: I also play the most break possible on most putts. It feels more natural to me, and sometimes the green can correct your mistakes

This is what I do, and most good putters I've ever talked to say they do. They trace it and see the ball going into the hole. Visualize the ball rolling at the speed you want and entering the hole. Then one look, and fire.

When I was younger, before I developed astigmatism, I swear I used to see the line. It was like on TW on Playstation where I could see exactly where the ball would go. I miss those days. I can't see shite now

Im not sure if I have enough imagination to fo this but im going to try!!! Anything that can help me. Just hope none if you guys are playing behind me the first time I try it out

I do think thats too much info in my head during the stroke, but ill try it. I just assumed the best way to putt was to simulate what I did on full shots which for me is to pick a general area that I want to aim the ball and swing the club. No other thoughts at all.

This is what I try and do...and it works out pretty well. I rarely 3 jack a hole on a course with good greens.

Played early at LSU today, melted down on 16,17,18...AGAIN. At least I got my round done in 2 hours and 15 mins...

Oh...and the bottom of one of my shoes fell off (the rubber part that holds the spikes).

Any good deals on golf shoes around BR?
