The flexibility in the rules isn't as annoying as knowing that unless you're one of six teams, you'll know by January if you're a contender or not. The college game isn't much different, bunch of 3s and running into people to draw fouls.

In 36 minutes of basketball, there have been 41 fouls called in SA-Minnesota game. Factor in reviews and other stoppages, and it’s quite painful to watch. I’ll die on this hill, but when you combine the art of drawing fouls being a desired skill with the way the game is officiated these days, it kills the entertainment.

I didn’t make a comparison to the ‘90’s, so not sure why some AI response matters here.

In the ‘90’s, you could destroy a guy in the lane. Now, you have guys like KD, Harden, and SGA that have perfected sweep motions and leg kicks to draw a foul. I can’t blame them, as that’s how the game is officiated now. If I had to choose between the two, I’d rather see some guy get hammered in the lane à la Knicks-Pacers in the ‘90’s than some guy using a technique to get cheap free throws.

The NBA has never been better.
