Call on the field was a fumble returned for a Touchdown. Was overturned after review

That's really close, not sure if there was enough evidence to overturn.

Fumble
There's a 2nd angle that clearly shows the arm going forward was an "empty hand". Miami got more friends of the Program in the Command Center than Alabama.

I think from the side angle it’s pretty obvious it was an incomplete pass, and that’s coming from someone who really wanted Louisville to pull the upset.

Did the home fans throw trash on the field? This would be a big factor

If only they knew the cheat code that arrived 6 hrs later

I thought as strange as the trajectory of the ball was it actually was a fumble.

100% Fumble
What was the spread?

On these angles alone, I vote forward pass. It went forward with a lot of oompf, indicating of an intentional forward pass.
But if there are other angles I'd be evaluating. It's definitely not conclusive, very close play.

Looks like a pass to me

The call on the field was a fumble. I initially thought it was a fumble. After seeing the replay, I did not think there was conclusive evidence to change the call to an incomplete pass.

The only thing certain is that Joe Tessitore is awful

Looks like an incomplete pass to my eyes.

Yep, should have stood as a fumble and TD

I would call that an incomplete pass. The force with which the ball went forward was due to the qb's throwing motion that got interrupted.
