now it would be a 15 yard penalty and Clowney would be ejected, which is pathetic

Babe Ruth calling his shot? Jordan shooting with his eyes closed? Bird telling the opposing team exactly what he was going to do for the final shot and then doing it?
Jesus Christ Jordan shot a free throw with his eyes closed in a November game up 5 with 3.5 seconds left in the 4th

Is there anything easier to do in sports with your eyes closed than make a free throw? It might genuinely be the easiest thing to do with eyes closed in our 5 major sports.

Y’all are so gay for this over the top Jordan shite

Yep, plenty more baller moves. Except for this, what the hell did Clowney do?

I wish LeBron would have flopped less in that era where it was hilariously ridiculous throughout the league

It’s gay af, but neither here nor there.

You know what gayer? Giving a shite the Jordan hit a free throw with his eyes closed in a November game up 5 with 3.5 seconds left to mess with dorky rookie.

Also let’s stop, this is a cool thread and we’re fricking it up with nonsense.

2009, another DE. This propelled Iowa to a top ten finish on the season, played tOSU in a defacto title game that went to OT, destroyed Penn States national title campaign, and helped make Adrian Clayborn a first round pick.

Score
Iowa 5
PSU 10

12 min and change remaining. Iowas offense couldn’t do anything. Rained for 24 hours straight, was one of the greatest individual efforts I’ve seen in sport in person. The rarity of this type of play can’t be overstated. I’ve never felt the air taken out of the stadium like this. Entire stadium knew the game was over with 12:00 left.

I get it, it was a fantastic hit. But lets be real, literally no one blocked the guy. He didnt put a move on a man, he just ran straight into the RB

No one blocked him because he blew past the tackle that should have chipped and the guard that was pulling

you don't need to have a "move" when you just out athlete everyone on the field

Absolutely one of the best plays ever. The fact it was the next play after the refs screwed them made it even better, but the hit alone will live forever.

Sad that would be a 15 yard penalty today for hitting too hard.

By today’s standards that would 100% targeting. We all have seen much less impact garnish a target call. That was a nice hit, but I think it’s pale in comparison to the hit Chad Jones put on the Arkansas guy.

It's hilarious that it was so obvious and the South Carolina entire team when crazy right in front of it.

There may not have been a better coach in the history of football to have that happen in front of over Spurrier. From a pure theatrics standpoint. The man does exasperation better than anyone lol

Crazy to think how such a great coach only won one national championship.

Here’s a good one from back in the day. Auburn won the game.

Wow that was a crazy first down ruling. If that didn't happen, the hit which lives in memory would never have happened at all

Without that hit AND the publicity replaying that hit for two weeks, would Clowney have been drafted?

Could you do it first try, in same situation, I’m guessing not.
