Was KU holding up with 5-4 edge greatest display of sportsmanship in history?

I got goosebumps with these young lads - an NCAA championship there for the taking and they hold up with under a minute left to allow UNC the substitution.

Hats off to the great Bill Self, the Kansas culture of sportsmanship, and to those 5 kids on the court. Truly an exemplary programme.

It was one guy, with the rest of his team yelling at him, to go to the goal, lol

Kansas had the lead by 1 with less than a minute to play. I think he was just milking the clock with the lead.

thanks, it's a lot of fun and i got into this run a lot, but nothing like the uga natty or the eventual hoop dawgs natty coming from mike white. i definitely reverted back to my 15 year old self these past 2 games.

not trying to steal the true kansas alumni/fan base valor as im really no longer a part of that group.

I don’t think sportsmanship had anything to do with it. They had the ball with 50 seconds left with a full shot clock. They wanted to burn clock.

They ended up hitting a basket at the shot clock buzzer with 20 seconds left so it was the right move.

KU was the best team throughout the tournament, I think. UNC had the most impressive wins, probably.

Pretty great champ game. UNC needed to get the ball out of Love's hands more but that's tough when he's carried you in crunch time the whole tournament.

I just wish Bacot hadn't rolled his ankle. Cost UNC a possession down 1, then McCormack was able to stretch the lead to 3.

I didn't care who won, but it would’ve been nice to see a finish with the best players on the floor. Maybe they don't panic-shoot threes with him still out there.

This is true. No chance McCormack scores that basket with Bacot on the floor.

Kansas had possession with under a minute to go up 1. Player from UNC was hurt down at the other end of the floor. It’s being suggested that KU held the ball long enough for him to get back down court so the officials could blow the play dead. Instead of taking advantage of the situation.
