The fans got into position to storm the field with like 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the game wasn't even decided yet. FSU forced OT and people ere standing around waiting to storm for almost an hour in real time.
This. I don’t have an issue with storming the field but is also think effort should be put in to slow it down for the safety of those on the field as the mob doesn’t pay attention when they Mob.
You could see the mob rush building well before the end of the 4th quarter. The fact that no one did anything within thr AD or building security is pathetic.

Exactly my point. You get it.

Yep- storming the field is great fun for those who do it. It’s an experience that gets burned into their memories and becomes part of the lore they have about their college years.
At the same time, the adults in charge need to understand that herds of college students act in ways that could endanger themselves and others. In light of that fact, there should be barriers in place to make storming the field a little more difficult. It may not be the desire of the school to totally eliminate it- after all it’s an exciting thing to be a part of. Schools may decide that the fines associated with storming g the field are a part of the cost of doing business and they have boosters who will pick up the tab anyway. But for safety’s sake they should throw up even a 4 ft chain link fence. That’s would slow the rush enough to allow on-field personnel and players to exit the field before being swarmed. Just make the whole thing slower.

Let me re phrase and put it this way, I think there’s celebrating on the field which is fine.
But rushing the field as a MOB before the game is over should be better controlled for safety

At least let the players get up on their feet first lol. There’s a pretty good chance someone stepped on one of their own.

Thomas Jefferson could pay that from the grave

Lots of pearl clutching going on here.
If you watch the closer up videos, the stampede isn't as bad as it looks from the top view. Look at about 11 seconds on. There are plenty of people just standing around.
This is what makes CFB great

Usually pro field storming but that was instantaneous and something you’d expect to see in some African shithole at a soccer match. Incredibly dangerous with no barrier there Yep, with you on this, I have no problem with storming the field normally. You nailed it though.
It’s a problem any time and very dangerous, having been on a field that got stormed it’s a serious risk for everyone that belongs on field -
Let game admin, managementt, players, coaches and officials get off the field first…
How would LSU fans feel if old miss storms the field and Nuss gets trampled and is out the rest of the season?
It needs to stop

Was Clemson exempted from this?
Kind of. They worded the rule so that Clemson can still do their thing. It says they have to have a "security plan" to allow the visiting team and refs to leave the field. So basically a delay before the people can rush the field

No matter what they do I think this season will for sure be Scott Stadium's last one to have a wide open berm like that.
Probably the last game. I’d imagine they have some kind of temporary barrier there by the next home game.
Minimal likelihood they’ll ever need it again.

Checking in this morning to find out the death toll from last night's storming of the field. Oh, zero you say? Lol at all the Karens clutching their pearls last night.

Article I read reported one fan carried off in a stretcher to an ambulance and transport to a hospital. Others treated by medical personnel on site.

I’m pro field storming, but if these reports are true about the injuries, you know damn well barriers are going up and this game will be used as an example.
Posted on 9/27/25 at 10:53 am to TexasTiger08
Barriers would make it worse. They used to have a chain link fence and hedges in front of the hill, but they had injuries from the crowd being impeded during the 2005 field rushing against FSU, so they removed them.

Exactly. Have people not heard about things like concerts and soccer matches where people are pressed up into barriers and actually get crushed to death?
Hedges make sense or something else soft

Notice they don’t have field or court storming anymore in the pros and it correlated with the players being paid more and more and fans paying more to be close to the action… now that college athletes are being paid, they’re too valuable to be exposed to just anyone storming those fields. That Virginia dude holding the phone could have been holding a blade he snuck in
