watch again. This car most likely obscured Stewarts view.

i have a feeling this whole discussion is about to devolve into claims of "common sense"

Lol. I know, but you have a limited amount of tear aways and it tends to get challenging to tear them off while controlling the vehicle. A lot of the tear aways are actually designed to come off on their own after the adhesive wears off.

Chances are you have dust and some dirt constantly on your visor.

Or because it wasn't on the video.

Just went back and looked again... might be a little movement. Hard to tell.

Here is Tony Stewart almost getting drug by a car on the track. Hand in the window:

And if he would have been killed doing it he would it would have been just as dumb of a move as what Ward pulled.

Not sure what y'all think this changes?

It's going to be really hard to prove that he intentionally hit him. You're dealing with low light conditions and a driver wearing a dark fire suit with a few reflectors on a dark track. For the split second the car in front of TS passed by Ward it's possible that Tony didn't see him. You also have to account for the fact that Ward came down the track, appeared to jump/ move out of the way of another car and then came back down the track again. It's this erratic behavior that could have made it impossible for TS to avoid him. I don't think the fishtail was a result of TS trying to scare him either. It looks to me like the result of losing traction because a body is between the wheels and the ground.

I have never been to the Sun, but I know a lot about it. I'm not a fan of many sports in the Olympics, but I understand them. Really?

Yes i did.

But that isn't stopping ESPN/NASCAR from protecting their investment. They should really just stop commenting on it other than it was a terrible tragedy.
