The committee watched meaningless regular bowls with opt outs and tried to use the transitive property to a playoff game

They have to retool the playoff seeding going forward. No auto byes for conference champions. You get seeded where you deserve. Just go back to the BCS computers to seed.

Had we stuck with a 4 team playoff, the top 5 are probably Oregon, Texas, Georgia, and Notre Dame. It wouldn't surprise me if Ohio State beats Oregon either...I definitely think it needed to be raised up to at least 8 teams.
