Can the pilot's family sue Kobe's estate for Kobe making him fly in those conditions?

I am pretty sure Kobe, a non-pilot, cannot legally or ethically override a pilot who refused to take off due to weather conditions.

This wasn't a delta flight. Rich and powerful people have plenty of influence over private pilots.

The pilot had previously been disciplined by the FAA for flying into airspace in poor visibility despite being ordered not to by air traffic control.

If it's proven to be pilot error for even taking off,

Taking off wasn’t the problem. It was not aborting the flight once local weather wasn’t conducive to flying by VFR.

Great, but that's part of being a professional. If the weather was so bad it directly influenced an error that killed everyone on board, a professional should not have attempted it.

Okay, I am extremely ignorant when it comes to flying.

Not a surprise, pretty clear it was pilot error.

They'd have to be able to prove coercion. Good luck with that.

That's my point.

It's much more likely Kobe said we can't miss this than a pilot flying in those conditions. Especially since Kobe had a history of hot dogging it in the helicopter to scare people

This is speculation

There is no proof. There are more reports to disprove your ascertion, than to support your claims.
