Someone saying, “your asterisk title won’t mean anything” isn’t racist. Over the last many years we keep hearing of all of these racist things being done only to find out later it was all made up.
Let’s say the racial comments were made. What did the Vandy AD accomplish? Nothing. His statement is a hollow “look at me and how noble I am” move. If he went and found the person that said such things and let them have a piece of his/her/they/zer mind, then that would be standing up for your players parents. But making a public statement to no one in particular and just creating controversy for no good reason is old and tired.

Condemning racism/racial slurs seems so unnecessary in 2021 America. It’s understood that the the overwhelming majority of mainstream American society is opposed to such things. When someone murders an old woman or rapes a child, nobody feels the need to publicly condemn murder and child rape. It’s just understood those things are universally seen as immoral and we deal with them accordingly.
There was a time when speaking out against racism made you somewhat unique and was noble. Now it’s completely unnecessary and just nonsense virtue signaling. Throw the assholes out, press charges if a crime accompanied the racist behavior, and be done with it.
