It's because they only have 2 decent teams left on their schedule (UGA, Texas).
The rest of their schedule is trash.
Losing to UGA means UF won't have to play in the SEC Title Game.
Guessing the Odds Makers expect Florida to lose to UGA & Texas and make the playoffs with 2 losses.

Can they beat an elite team on a given night? Yes.
Can they make the CFP? Yes.
Is that defense as it currently stands winning a NC? Absolutely not.

They have the defense to beat anyone, but the offense right now could get them beat by about anyone right now as well.
Again, their QB has a worse RTG than John Mateer right now.
He has the talent to beat a good team if it all came together for him as we saw against OSU, but he was terrible for three quarters in that one too.
I think they’d lose tomorrow to UGA, Bama and UF within the conference and would be getting points on a neutral field against ND, OSU and Miami.

Agreed with Bama having the best value.
Miami is still a bit of an enigma. In a one off game, they'd be an absolute handful against anyone. But I think they have some holes on defense, especially the secondary. I also question their depth generally, especially for a deep run - they probably more than any of the other 6 - 7 legitimate contenders are one ACL or broken foot on the wrong guy away from being on the outside looking in.
