Apparently, the ACC contract called for "look-in's" which allowed the schools to do a sanity check and ask for more money. This never happened and FSU is looking at it for an out.
They are definitely trying to find where the ACC potentially breached the contract.

These teams are fricked in the portal/NIL era. Not sure why they are considered valuable. Stanford may be the worst P5 team this year, by a long shot.
There is something called Silicon Valley and social media based there.

You show me where those people or companies have ever shown an interest in college football and I'm happy to take that into consideration.
Stanford pushes out their own players that are 5th-year seniors because even they can't get into grad school there. So not only do they rarely take transfers, they get rid of their own grad transfers.
I hate the portal, but it's a reality and anyone not playing that game will not compete.

Some cord cutting had already began a decade ago, but it's really intensified over the past 5 years or so I would say.
That's the point. They added them in the cable TV era, which quickly ended. They did not see it coming.
They would not be adding Rutgers and Maryland if they were looking to expand today.
So the fans may not know what the future holds, but the schools and conferences don't either.
Even the Big 12 probably wishes it had not added the 4 G5 schools. Although it did give them temporary stability.
Things change quickly

Except the BIG is the only one that has actually pivoted away from the cable TV model.
They are going to have almost blanket coverage on 3 of the 4 major OTA networks and will have almost every meaningful game on national TV for free to anyone all Saturday.
They will be covered in eyeballs.

Let’s be fair, it added the best of the G5 who were already basically at that P5 level. It’s not like they added Ball State and Bowling Green and Charlotte and South Alabama

Everybody either streams or has cable, dont kid yourself

Except there are millions and millions of people with cable or streaming that do not have ESPN.
They all have those networks with their cable or streaming.

Just because you don't, doesn't make your statement true.

Oh I disagree with that. I think a large amount of people stream and use an antenna.
I have espn plus and an HD antenna for local channels. It’s a great set up.

Yes it does.
I guarantee less than 5% of people exclusively use an antenna to watch college football

Exactly.
So you have access to everything
The post i was replyint to implied that the BIG has an advantage because all their games are OTA. That is irrelevant because everybody has access to espn

you don't think the Bounce House is P5 worthy? or the 1984 national champions?

I dont get what you are saying.
Everyone has access to ESPN by paying for if they choose to.
But far more people actually receive OTA networks.
All cable, satellite, and pretty much all streaming TV packages have the ota networks. Far less of them come with ESPN. It's in the tens of millions less with ESPN.

brett mcmurphy has every right to be a dick on twitter, espn analysts, journalists(lol), and writers stole his shite off twitter and tweeted as their breaking news for many years, then they hired him, and their people still stole his shite with zero credit to original writer.
Posted on 8/3/23 at 5:27 pm to Cosmo
Maybe, but an antenna is way cheaper than espn plus. I wouldn’t discount the amount of old or poor people who don’t have streaming. Or just tech illiterate folks.

I disagree
How many people do you know that watch college football and dont have espn?

No one that I know specifically.
I have every channel that exists in the world.
But there are lots of people that would surf and stay on a game that is on if they can get it with what they have. They count too.
