I look forward to reading about FSU going broke paying interest on loans in 5 years.

There's no way going that route works out for them.

If they aren't in talks with the Big 10 they need to lock up the Big 12 invite. ASU is a very big school in a big population city and has more research money than people assume. But they do not want to end up being the most valuable school in a devalued PAC.

The state of Arizona is booming and getting a huge population influx from California. With Arizona State's recent AAU membership, I actually thought the BIG would be coming after them.

They may be holding a couple of spots for a school in the southeast, maybe Virginia, Miami or UNC.

FSU to the BIG10 just seems so stupid. They are not a BIG10 school in any way shape or form and will never be accepted as one.
They belong in the SEC, and so does Clemson.
Oregon and Washington need to be the teams going to the BIG10.
That is what's best for college football.

Lots of smoke about FSU moving on from the ACC. Is Clemson about to get left behind?

There were several articles in the past week about Clemson going BIG vs SEC but nothing in the past 48 hours. It all seems to be about the current PAC teams.

One article that I read about Clemson is that it wasn't just about the money. It said they fit better in the BIG because of the loyalty their school has from fans, alumni, etc, which they said is more reflective of the Midwestern schools. I call bullshite- it's all about the $$$$.

If I were Clemson, I would be making plans but letting Florida State blunder their way through public in their own attempts.

Have your ducks in a row for if an opportunity arises while letting the other idiot take all the heat for it.

Won’t last long. They are running out of water. There are way too many people living out there these days plus they are letting the Saudi’s suck up a metric frick ton of it to grow alfalfa for their fricking horses.

At least two of those schools shouldn’t be in the Big 10 to begin with. And it isn’t working out much better for the third

And everyone that thinks they "know" what is best for schools or conferences should remember this.

We don't know. The schools don't know. The conferences don't know. The TV networks don't know.

This is all a crap shoot. They have all made horrible decision after horrible decision for decades.

These people are making generational decisions based on a snapshot of an ever changing landscape.

I respect the Pac 12 schools that want to keep it together.

I think Kliavkoff is a fricking moron though that could have added some teams, even if they were G5, to at least stabilize the conference - like the Big 12 did.

The Big 12 added four G5 teams, which gave them stability and led them to where they are today, which is not great, but strong.

Sure, fan loyalty is more of a Midwestern thing. The South knows nothing about that.

FSU: "I can't believe we are signed on to a long term deal that did not anticipate the massive changes college football would experience"

Also FSU today: "Let's sign on to a long term deal that does not anticipate the massive changes college football will experience in the future"

Problem with Stanford and Cal doing that is that the number of schools in their geographic area which met the standards of those two were slim and none.

Religious affiliation blocked BYU and TCU.

Academics blocked Boise et all.

All while bemoaning that they weren’t getting enough money from their TV contracts despite how much they put into their “prestige” sports that no one watches or cares about besides them and the Sears Cup.
