No one walked into a better offensive situation than Caleb out of last years class though and then him taking forever to get rid of the ball had everyone pointing blame at what was realistically an average oline. And that defense was playoff caliber and tried doing all it could to help out and then that Skins Hail Mary broke them.

In the grand scheme, Nix probably did. He didn't have great weapons but he had an offensive coach to dumb everything down and walk a rookie along.

That was gm 7. Not a great situation if you've got a shitty coach already then the bottom falls out in gm 7.

Caleb averaged 6.3 ypa which is close to last if not dead last in the league as a starter. If that isn’t a dumbed down offense, I don’t know what is. That’s why he had so little turnovers, they were playing it extremely safe with him. For a generational talent, you wouldn’t expect that.

The media is fawning all over Bagent and now calling Williams leash short - only a matter of time before Bears fans start to follow suit.
Bagent QB1 2025 incoming.

Any team led by Kevin Warren, Matt Eberflus, and Shane Waldron is screwed. I’m not and never was a Caleb guy but let’s pump the breaks for a second

I wish him the very best. May God watch over him and his family.

he’s just not a very good NFL QB , but maybe you’ll finally become a believer after the first month or two of the season
Well I agree, as I said in the post that you quoted and responded to

I’m not sure where I personally fall on Caleb Williams but it’s a topic that cannot be discussed rationally on this board. There are too many posters that absolutely hate this guy for any reasonable discussion on him to occur.

The numerous NFL personalities cheerleading a #1 pick like he's a former walkon because he looked like an average NFL qb for 2 or 3 games by the end of his second season.

Caleb was not good last year, but has ridiculous natural talent. New coaching staff could fix him.
Or he'll never be very good.
I think a separate, but big issue is his personality. He's not the guy I'd want leading the locker room. Effeminate, soft spoken, crybaby.

This guy Tyson Bageant played division II ball at shepherd university in his home state of West Virginia. The bears just signed him to a 2 year, $10 million contract to be number 2 to Caleb Williams. His reaction is so pure. Really beautiful thing. Not the most talented guy on the planet but made it by working his arse off. Love this.
Dude smoked the Chiefs 3rd stringers.....he throws a good ball with accuracy. Not sure how he would have performed with Jones, Karlaftis and the rest of the Chiefs 1st stringers harassing him but he seems legit.

By all accounts in both college and NFL Caleb is a hard arse worker and a good dude to be around. Everything else about him is BS drama for clicks. He has done nothing out of the ordinary since being in Chicago.

I didn't say he wasn't a hard worker or a bad guy. I said he was an effeminate, soft spoken, cry baby.

Define ordinary
He paints his nails and wears dresses. He's a bizarre dude.
