UNC AD makes one month’s additional salary ($104k) for NCAAT berth

How is this not a conflict of interest? Because he “stepped out of the room” while they discussed UNC?

Or Head of the NCAA Infractions Committee while currently serving as an AD.
Miami's AD led the charge to punish Bush and USC....for being loosey-gooesy as a Program with Celebs and Agents around players.
A few years later, after Miami's AD steps away from the NCAA, Miami gets busted for having Rappers and Agents around their Program. You can't illustrate karma better and the absurdity College sports has become under the NCAA''s "make it up as the wind blows" leadership.

The argument is they had a (somewhat significantly) higher NET rating.
That said, they beat NO ONE remotely worth a damn except for UCLA. North Carolina’s only argument is they played a lot of good teams kind of close. That would be wonderful in horseshoes. In essence, the committee rewarded losing.
WVU was FAR from perfect and by no means a lock. But they did do something UNC didn’t…actually beat good teams (Gonzaga, Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas).
When splitting hairs, which is always the case when in comes to the final 6 or so at large teams the NCAA shouldn’t create a situation where it can even appear “tie goes to the AD on the committee.”

When the committee said a WVU injury was the reason they were kept out, when he’s been injured three months and didn’t play a single Big 12 game, that’s when you knew something was especially fricky.
Shoutout to Mad Dog for calling out Cunningham to his face on Russo’s radio show yesterday:
“But DeVries got hurt in November. They played a full schedule without him. They won ten league games. They won at Kansas. They beat Iowa State, who’s a three-seed. I mean I would hope that you guys didn’t kill the team’s season, those kids on that team, who played three months without that player and you said, you know what? The player is out so we’re not going to put him in the tournament because that’s not fair. You can’t have that team play all year and tell me they’re not going to make it because DeVries is out. That’s not a fair thing to do to that team. Hopefully the committee didn’t do that.”
