USL baserunner started the whole event. The coach looked like a huge douche.

All the Sun Belt teams have Little Man Syndrome. The Cajuns, Coastal Carolina, ULM. All of their head coaches have to puff out their chest and show that they won't be pushed around.

Troy baseball is the worst for that ... The last 2 years at least. They're always nearly getting in fights on the field and in the stands

They have a douchebag 1B from Australia that is usually the cause

Of course the Cajuns started the entire thing, then their head coach gets ejected supporting his douchebag player's trying to run over people when they are dead out. I wish this was like basketball and 20 players from the Cajuns would be ejected for leaving the bench while all of the James Madison players stayed where they needed to be.

Way to show how much of a tough guy you are.

He only has his own recruiting to blame. I don’t know how you fail to get one power hitter in the offseason to add to the lineup. As soon as the other team gets 2 + runs on you it feels over. Also doesn’t help that his Sunday starter randomly imploded in the middle of the season.

I've been wondering what is going on with Deggs since Gunner Leger left to go to Southern Miss for the same position. I know that was not easy for him. You're way more connected there than I am, are any of their woes related to the money issues at UL?

Gunnar was a terrible pitching coach.

The problems could be that Deggs dad is dying a slow and painful death from cancer. Multiple people who were at the game have stated that JMU first baseman started chirping about Deggs being a drunk and then went in on his dying father.

The result was a player trucking the first baseman and Deggs backing the player. I’m not saying it’s justified in any way. But this is the first time the Cajuns showed any type of fight in the last three weeks.

USL coaches were on a roll...

First, the beisbol coach loses his mind at James Madison and tries to fight the entire home team dugout when his player tried to run through a tackle like a running back.

Just a few minutes later in Lafghanistan, the cow from Troy State does the same to the cow 1B of USL as she was catching a fly ball. The USL softball sponsor threw a hissy fit and was ejected as the umpires only called an out instead of ejecting the runner.

Honestly the softball sponsor was correct as the fielder has the right to go wherever to catch the pop fly. It's the runner's responsibility to avoid contact which she initiated. The baseball coach was wrong because his runner initiated the flagrant contact... but it was funny to see the crying cajun sponsors yesterday

They have NO rev share money to speak of at all. They’re really behind the 8 ball even in that conference much less on a national level. Coastal, USM, Troy, USA, JMU, all out resource UL by a wide margin. It’s why you continue to see the Cajuns asking more freshmen than their competitors do to carry the team. Freshmen are cheaper than transfers.
That said, they gotta figure it out soon. Season is spiraling

Worth reading the thread to find this gem.

They went 7-0 against K State, Maryland, LSU, and Houston. Rev share isn’t why he’s recruiting a bunch of 150lb players.

Was he? It seems odd that a better team poached him from the Cajuns. And it's Gunner.

That sucks.

That I get, I was really wondering about the state of the program in general. I don't talk with the couple of guys who are my main connections inside of UL athletics much anymore. The budget issues have to make everything tougher for athletics now.

Doesn-t look like a big deal.
As far as the ULM coach, why do umps put up with coaches/managers getting within 3 inches of their faces and screaming at them. The spit has to be flying.

Pemberton has ULM in a great position. He’s also a massive tool.

Actually it wasn’t a completely lateral move

Ostrander the HC retains title of pitching coach

Gunner is Asst Coach, along with rest of staff. He’s done a good job of recruiting LA there

Come on, man. There has to be some proof of this, and he probably would have been thrown out for that. When would they have been close enough to each other without an ump around to hear it?

Gotcha, I forgot that Ostrander was their pitching coach for a long time before getting the head job, and he was an exceptional pitching coach.
Still, I found it odd that Gunner would move from a place where he played, where his dad coaches in football, and where most of his family lives.

But if he left to learn his trade under an exceptional mentor or if he were forced out, that would make sense.
