Baw, be satisfied with your team’s victory yesterday. You destroyed ISt at their place...which is huge. I believe that while Cajuns have a very good team this season, Ist was a tad overrated in preseason. That’s not to diminish your win because ANY g5 road win against a p5 is awesome.
Oklahoma would destroy Cajuns though.

Lmao! No it didn't. The Athletic Department (and by extension, the university) clarified earlier this year that the academic side should still be referred to as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. However, the nickname of the athletic programs is "Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns". They shorten it to "Louisiana".
Basically, the athletic department/school figured out a clever way to get around the law that says they can't be "UL" so that their atheletic programs--at least--can ditch the regional university moniker. Just like McNeese and Nicholls dropping the "State" from their names for athletic purposes.
Honestly, it is what it is. They are and always will be ULL to me, but I don't give a shite what they call themselves anymore. They can "rebrand" themselves all they want, but as long as they are in a second rate conference like the Sun Belt, it won't matter what their name is.
ETA: and by the way, the university website itself says the correct name is "University of Louisiana at Lafayette". So all this shite about the name being "Louisiana" needs to stop. Athletics are nicknamed "Louisiana". The school is ULL.
