It would be like how the UFC let Jon Jones fight Stipe for his legacy. I mean if Gaethje says that that's the only fight he'll do since Conor is the only legend left for him to face--if Conor is able to beat Max, is the UFC going to turn that down? Gaethje vs. Conor is gangbusters.

one thing to watch out for is conor has two fights left on his deal and will want to roll out for larger paydays. so UFC may slowroll allowing him that last fight to negotiate a longer contract. I dont think the UFC will want to allow conor to do the same as ngannou. conor makes money and ngannou loses money.

Chandler has just become a punching bag for guys so I'm not putting a ton of stock in that win but Ruffy is a bad dude.

Chandler is still scary in the division, but age & battles have slowed him some. Crazy to think he is 2-8 in the UFC, but all of the fights prior to this one were great exciting fights.

His next fight(s) need to be against people who don't have so much of a height/reach advantage. Chandler is 5'8" with a 71" reach. All of his UFC opponents were taller (understandable since he is shorter) and he's only had reach advantage once, over Gaethje.

Mauricio Ruffy 5'11" / 75"
Paddy Pimblett 5'10" / 73"
Charles Oliveira 5'10" / 74"
Dustin Poirier 5'9" / 72"
Tony Ferguson 6'0" / 76.5"
Justin Gaethje 5'11" / 70"
Charles Oliveira 5'10" / 74"
Dan Hooker 6'0" / 75.5"

Nah. I'm a big Chandler fan. My sister is good friends with him and his wife. I've met him and he was really cool, so I definitely root for him. But he needs to retire. I don't think he would be favored in any fight vs anyone in the top 15, probably top 20 now in the division, much less being scary in the division. At 40 years old, when you're that far down the line, it's time to hang it up. His wife apparently wants him to.

So happy for Gaethje. He is one of my favorite fighters. Dude ALWAYS brings it. A fricking warrior.

Justin fricked up Topuria so badly that people are now online claiming that Justin’s gloves were loaded

You know those USA USA chants from the crowd had to pump him up when he started doing damage after getting through the 1st
He took a brutal liver shot himself early but the knee at the end of the 4th was the coup de grace for Topuria. His face was so mangled that Gaethje had to move on the his liver.

More than anything, though, UFC Freedom 250 was a vulgar display of power by President Trump, who views America as one giant sandbox filled with toys for him to play with. Though his Freedom 250 Concert imploded, you can expect plenty more embarrassing stunts to come.

It would be funny to see Arman passed up again but I think you are right. I could see Gaethje saying he is only doing one more before retirement against the Conor/Max winner.

Just watched the main event again and Gaethje's strategy was brilliant. Several times he would shoot like he was going for Ilia's front leg for a single. But instead of going all the way, he would wait for Topuria to back his hips up to sprawl and he would hit him with an uppercut. He did it maybe 3 or 4 times and finally on the last one, had the timing down and absolutely blasted Topuria right in his eye. From that point on, he had trouble with swelling on that eye. Gaethje went to work on it with some stiff jabs once the swelling was obvious.

But using his wrestling offensively to set up those big uppercut was so good. Such a good fight.

Gathje's jabs were better than I had ever seen them. He landed some heavy punches obviously put Topuria's face to work with those jabs, It was just one after the other.

I’m not saying Justin will try to duck Arman but if he is about to hang it up Max or Conor are a way better send off.

Agreed, was very impressive.

Also, his collar tie was great.

The Reddit shills were absolutely brigading the MMA and UFC subs with garbage posts until the event unfolded and became so overwhelming awesome that they were overwhelmingly drowned out by others.

Did Gaethje seemed uncharacteristically gassed last night? I’m talking even before those brutal body shots Topuria landed in the 2nd.

They were throwing at an insane pace. Also, not just pace but power shots.

Fighting outside might have affected things too.
