Gaethje said that they worked on that in training and called it the crash or crashing into Topuria, grabbing for the legs to hit the uppercut. Worked like a charm.

Can't get over how bad Topuria fought / how bad his gameplan was. He bought his own hype! Really thought he could just walk up to Gaethje and knock him out easily. Unbelievably bad.

No respect for Gaethje's power at all, walking into jabs, not throwing his own jab or setting things up for later like he usually does. Gassed himself out throwing only power.

Then when he did have Gaethje hurt with the liver shot, didn't try to get him out with ground and pound or stand him back up to finish. Went for subs and gassed himself out more.

Way too overconfident, lost in the sauce. The personal trash talk about his divorce, maybe even Hokit's lines at the press conference, might have enraged Topuria and caused him to abandon everything else and just try to KO Gaethje. Along with the predictions he was trying to fulfill.

Gathje's jabs were better than I had ever seen them. He landed some heavy punches obviously put Topuria's face to work with those jabs, It was just one after the other.

Yeah his jab seemed to have a little extra pop on it last night. Topuria didn't help himself any by walking straight into some of those jabs. His head looked like he was eating some straight rights the way it was snapping back when hit with those jabs.

I honestly dont know wtf he, or Poatan, were thinking standing in front of their opponents like they did last night. Probably a bit of reading their own press, but both just fricking stood there with very little movement. Odd.

If Paddy beats BSD, next fight should be Paddy vs Topuria.

Winner of that vs Gaethje if he even wants to take the fight. He doesn’t owe anyone anything.

He ate a lot of punches. I don’t think he could see shite. Also, JG is built like a bulldog for a lightweight.

I like Paddy but the dude talks a lot of shite for his best wins being over washed up Chandler and Ferguson. No wins vs current ranked Lightweights.

I do think the Pimblett vs BSD is going to be a good fight though. I like that matchup for both guys.

This is what I'm trying to understand. Arman absolutely has to be next man up. Also, Paddy needs to find someone who still has a pulse.

“Spanish news site Marca reported Tuesday that Topuria was released from the hospital with non-displaced fractures in both orbital bones following his brutal stoppage loss to Justin Gaethje on Sunday”
