A member of the Giants 2011 Super Bowl winning. Best remembered by Big Ten fans as their QB's nightmare, recorded 13 interceptions and a team record 392 INT return yards in his 3 years at Iowa. Emotional leader of a stout Iowa D in 2009 that won the Orange Bowl. The epitome of the stereotypical undersized white kid with a high motor.

Despite only being a backup SS for NY for 2 season he's remembered fondly by his teammates there

The NFL suspended Sash for the first four games of the 2012 season for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Sash said he had taken the prescription drug Adderall for an anxiety condition to help him with public speaking.

In May 2014, Sash was arrested in his hometown of Oskaloosa and charged with public intoxication after leading police on a drunken scooter chase.

Guess it all caught up to him.

Nothing has been officially released, but people in Iowa are saying apparent suicide.

Like what c on z quoted, looks like he may have had issues with anxiety

Cody Ledbetter also committed suicide the other day.

Published on Sep. 7, 2015 Cody Ledbetter, who once starred at quarterback for New Mexico State, was found dead in Aledo, Texas, Saturday morning, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Sunday. He was 42.

According to Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler, Ledbtter was found in a shed after an apparent suicide and pronounced dead at 9:26 a.m. ET Saturday. An official ruling on his death will be made following an autopsy. Ledbetter pleaded guilty in 2005 to having sex with a 16-year-old student in 2004 when he served as a teacher and assistant football coach at Alvarado High School. He was also charged with having sex with another young victim the same year.

Ledbetter then fled to Canada prior to being sentenced in the 2004 case, but surrendered to the Ottawa Police Service in 2010 after being accused of domestic violence involving a woman he was living with in. He was extradited to Texas to face charges of having an improper relationship with a student and sentenced to 12 years in prison in January 2011. It was not disclosed how much time he served before he was released on parole.

Ledbetter played at NMSU from 1991 to 1995. He led the nation in total offense in 1995 and ranks second in school history in total plays (1,362), first in most passing yards in a single game (559), second in total yards (8,207) and is first in total touchdowns (68).

He later played for the Edmonton Eskimos and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.

I vividly remember watching that play live. I can remember watching it on my buddies couch in Carrollton, Georgia, and I can remember the same day Auburn played at ole miss and Cam Newton caught a TD.

It's weird how much CFB resonates with you sometimes. Some of you may know I consider Iowa a second team behind Auburn, and this one hits home for sure. Sash was one of my all time favorite Hawkeyes. For the Iowa fanbase this feels like Lutz did for AU fans.

Adderall for anxiety to help with public speaking? Hmmmmm

Adderall can tend to make you talkative because it's speed, but I have NEVER heard of it being prescribed for any type of anxiety condition. After taking it for awhile, it actually started doing the opposite to me and made me feel awkward in social situations that I normally wouldn't have.

Regardless of any of that, Rest In Peace Tyler. Dead way too soon.

For sure. I've probably mentioned before my dad went to Iowa, so it's a team I tend to follow.
