Solid troll by the Eagles
ETA: However, GB successfully stuffed this play if this is the tush push in the playoffs

Anything to score more points I guess. No word on why it’s illegal to do anything close to this move on special teams I’m guessing

Good. If it was so easy to do, then why is only one team great at it? Nothing stopping everyone else from doing it too.

I don’t love the play but don’t necessarily want to see it banned either. It’s not completely impossible to stop.

Good
Draft better interior linemen and you can do it too

I am actually surprised, not upset just surprised. When GB went the player safety route and started comparing it to the defensive & STs rules I was certain it would be banned.
Would be curious to know the why the other 9 teams voted against the ban. I am sure some are because of "we need to fix the game" fatigue in the name of player safety, while also not actually addressing some of the issues affecting player safety (Thursday night games, needing an extra bye)

I actually like the play and glad it’s still going. I don’t like Philly at all but respect them for their pragmatic approach for short yardage situations.
Ever since I watched tom Brady repeatedly sneak for a yard for years with success I didn’t understand why every and 1 situation was not some form of direct sneak/dive.
Philly came close to perfecting it and I expect more and more teams will have a designated tush push guy soon.

It can definitively be stopped. But if the NFL office really wants it to stop, they will just have the refs place an emphasis on "stopping forward progress" and they will blow the whistle as soon as the QB is stacked up.

I was kind of hoping it got banned, purely because I'm tired of seeing the constant complaining regarding it.

I'm fine with the play, and I like it in short-yardage situations. I am curious to see if teams do the play more often in all types of situations, like 1st and ten at your 35 or 1st and 10 at your 2 to gain some yards and in all short-yardage situations. But the fact that it got 22 votes to ban, I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before they get the 24 votes.

Good.
It makes zero fricking sense to ban it. Only one team in the league has actually employed it successfully with any kind of consistency.

Happy it didn’t get banned. That’s one thing I despise about America is when someone gets great at something we have to make a law to stop it.

So surely defensive players can push players through the line now too right?
