Maybe this is just me, and I am sure it is not the popular opinion, but I think the rebuilding process needs to start at the offensive line. I am sure their 1st round pick will be a qb. However, how good is a rookie qb going to be with a terrible line?

Why not instead of some big name QB, build a great offensive line over the next 2 years or so, then get the great QB that comes out of that draft. Then, they might actually stand a chance in being productive.

System QB. What Oregon QBs have done anything in this league?

Chip Kelly could use him, that's about it.

Legitimate point. Youre definitely right to a degree- Tim Couch and David Carr never stood a chance. But rebuilding teams seem tend to look towards QBs as the answer. I think the solution depends on a whole host of factors.

Just by odds alone. I'd say frick drafting a QB because of last year. Go for the more sure fire OL/DL picks.

ETA: Anyone realize that the Colts gave up 2 mid-late 1st rounds picks for the 1st and 3rd pick in the same draft?

Yep. That's what they should have done instead of wasting a 1st rounder on Weeden last year. He wasn't that much of an upgrade over McCoy. They could have beefed up their online instead. It has to suck to be a browns fan. There's always another rebuilding job starting over from scratch evryother year

I wish the Cardinals would spend an entire draft only on the offensive line!

As much as I love Steven Jackson, I am starting to wish the Falcons would have spent some $$$ on some linemen during the free agency this year.

Well they have some key pieces up front already. Joe Thomas, Mitchell Schwartz, and Alec Mack. Apparently they're struggling through two games, but no denying their ability. At Guard they need to get help. Chris Faulk would have been a first round Tackle had he not got hurt, maybe slide him inside and let him have a chance to start. Then draft a guy with one of those firsts like a Gabe Jackson, Cyril Richardson, or Zach Fulton. Someone you can start at the other Guard position. This QB class is gonna be DEEP. I think they have two second rounders as well. Get a WR then a QB.

Supposedly the browns didn't even bother telling him. fricking pathetic.

quote:

“Yeah, I found out on the radio,” Richardson said during an interview with 19 Action News in Cleveland. “Actually, one of my friends called me. He was like, ‘You got traded?’ I was like, ‘Man, shut up talking to me. Get off my phone.’ I turned on the radio, and all of a sudden I heard, ‘Cleveland Browns running back has been traded to the Colts.’ It just hit me in my face like I can’t believe … I didn’t see it coming. I had good relations with everybody. I guess it’s the best for the Browns. At the end of the day, it’s the best move for both of us, I guess. I want to be a Brown. I didn’t see it coming, but at the same time, I’m a Colt now, so I got to move on get ready for Sunday’s game.”
