Could Houston be trying to get Shumpert for the Knicks in order to land Melo?
Posted on 7/1/17 at 3:46 pm to floridatigah
Well the pick has to be a 2nd rounder as well since Houston traded next year's to LA. Unless Cleveland wants a 2020 1st

Jeebus lawd plz. Shumpert AND Anderson to NYK for Melo? Would NYK want Shumpert back?

Also, Houston did keep a couple of those Non Guaranteed.

This seems like a terrible use of Houston's remaining cap, and the Cavs are getting a pick? Something else has to be up here
Definitely. Morey isn't this dumb.

I think we'll be finishing up the Iguodala process here shortly.

Rockets have to send something back, they don't have enough space to absorb Shump.
can't they send a bunch of those non-guaranteed contracts with trade exceptions.
cleveland waives them, no problem.
houston gets shump

I'm far from a Capologist, how is this possible? Do they have Iggy's Bird Rights?

Special Warriors cap limits?
Seems like they have a deep well of money over there.

Thompson said 3/$45M
But yes, GS can match offers on Iguodala

I seriously don't understand the Warriors cap at all. I have to assume that they will be in cap hell in three years. I think they are paying absurd luxury taxes right now.

Lol Iggy isn't walking away from that. Damn their luxury tax bill is going to be enormous

Yes.

Either Klay or Draymond are gone in a couple years. No way they can fit all these contracts. But give Myers credit for working over the Cap

He met with San Antonio, a meeting he requested, and Houston, who according to Marc Spears of The Undefeated gave Iguodala an offer. The Spurs are one of the league’s most financially savvy teams, and Houston doesn’t have $10 million to offer Iguodala without dumping more salary. So it doesn’t seem that Iguodala procured the big money deal he was hoping.
More from Thompson on Iggy.
Like I said, SA and HOU were not in cap position to drive up Iggy's price

If he signs, GS will be at 97.5mil
that's not even including Durant's contract either

That Repeater tax is coming up as well I believe

You can't combine trade exceptions with anything else in a trade.

That's the cap
The luxury tax is 119
Once kd signs they will be about 10 million over the cap
Golden state was 5 mil over the cap and 14 million under the luxury tax last year no repeater tax
U can't take in more salary then the cap but u don't get taxed until u hit the luxury tax
